I currently have been using rejex and am looking for more depth in
the finished product for my spring cleaning project.

Thanks for the expertise.

Your best bet to achieve the highest level of gloss and clarity is PROPER machine polishing, followed by the application of a high quality quartz / glass coating. Do not...under any circumstances...let anybody talk you into wet sanding!!!

We work on a tremendous amount of new Corvettes (many shipped in from around the country) and extract as much as we can out of the finish, then top it off with proper protection. Additionally, we teach our clients the right way to maintain it! You can spend thousands, then destroy it in 20 minutes of a wash / dry / wipedown done the wrong way.

Here are a few articles for you to check out:

How to properly wash your car

How to apply (Kamikaze) Glass Coating

Z06 Crystal Series Detail (lots of information and photos)

We have published over 150 detailing articles, we train professional detailers from all over the world, and we train / consult OEM manufacturers as well (not GM!)...you can be sure that you're getting the best information from us!

How do you remove the OP without wet sanding?? Most vettes have it and it is especially repulsive on NRB...

Most complete, efficient way to clean and maintain! I've read all there is to read and I will follow your advice mostly. Thanks Glen

Since we're on the subject...

I'll be taking delivery of my brand new Arctic White 2016 C7 Z51 in about a month or so which I've ordered from the factory. It is going to built and then shipped by rail from the plant all the way down to me CA.

I'll be notifying my courtesy dealership down here NOT to wash my brand new vette, as I'm sure they have a machine car wash that they run all of their brand new cars through. (Hopefully they listen and remember)

What I plan on doing is, (And I've breifly read through glen's dropbox), is to:

1. Wash the car properly
2. Clay bar or surface prep mitt to decontaminate
3. Apply sealant then wax

Is it necessary to actually use an orbital polisher on a brand new car if it has never seen a wash and has absolutely zero swirls or scratches?

Can't I just jump straight from claying the car to applying sealant and wax if it is literally a brand new car with a fresh paint job?

If you look closely (tough with white) I'm sure the paint won't be perfect.

Also, polishing adds more shine and gloss. So if it were mine, yes I'd polish it.

Polishing is the secret to detailing, not the wax. Durability and gloss are so much better for ANY sealant if polished first. Even by hand is better just "wash and wax".

Thanks... for some reason I could not find a page on Autogeek.net with all of the "polishes" available.

Care to name a few?

Read the whole thread, mentioned above
Meguires 205 is safe and effective
At auto parts store

Better yet learn to use a system and the procedures, the products aren't that important. It's the procedure ! the link is above a couple times, from me , start with doc 1 and read all the way through for an easy and effective way. This method is for NON DETAILERS, people who want to drive, not wax.....

Glen's directions are SPOT on.

Do what he says, how he says, and you'll be fine.

Deviate at your own risk.
