Have any of you purchased Tires from Costco? I have noticed other discussions on Tires, but have not seen Costco as a recommendation. Thanks.
My only experience of buying tire at Costco is that the waiting is too dam long!
I made appointment ahead of time; on the day of appointment, I only went in when they notified me that tire center is ready for my car in 30 minutes. Still it took 3 hours. Unbearable.
Nowaday I buy tires from TireRack.com, and have this mobile tire installer come to my home to install them. Done this 3 times so far, good work each time.

+1, can't beat TireRack. Delivery is fast and no sales tax in most states.
I bought Michelin A/S 3s for a prior car. Costco did a fine job on the install. No scratches on the rims, used a torque wrench to do the final tightening on the lugs, and rechecked the torque for free after 100 miles. Free road hazard insurance, too.
OTOH, those tires weren't as low profile or as wide as ours, nor were they dismounting runflats, with their much stiffer sidewalls.
I have found Costco prices to be just a couple of bucks more BUT they include the road hazard insurance that Discount tire likes to charge ya extra for. Bottom line, they are cheaper than Discount and Tire Rack out the door.
No issues with them for quality of work here.....I will be checking with them for C7 tires soon. Just waiting for the new A/S Plus run flats to hit the market in March.

It's my understanding that Costco does not sell or service runflats therefore I would be very careful having them try to dismount or mount runflats. Not only do you need modern equipment but the technicians need to have some experience with runflats. I'm not dissing Costco just pointing out that you need to be careful when dealing with runflat tires. The low profile runflats are a real B*TCH to dismount and mount without messing up your wheels.

True. The person that mounted my Michelin A/S Plus ZPP tires struggled a little bit with them, and he's done tons of Corvette wheels and tires. He gave up with the first machine he was using and kicked someone off the better machine to do my tires and rims.

Do your homework, check personally with your local Costco dealer as I did this morning. My local Costco is only about a year old and has the latest tire changing equipment.....much newer than my 10 year old local "Discount Tire" dealer. Costco will probably not stock your Corvette size BUT they can order them. I have had no issues buying C5 or C6 GS run flats or having them mounted at Costco; I expect the same for my C7.
Hunter has been around since I was a tire buster back in the '60's; http://www.hunter.com/tire-changers Rather than you trying to make the decision if a name brand tire shop has the proper equipment, speak to the management about your concerns. A respective shop will not take a chance on mucking up your wheels knowing that they will have to replace'em if they do.
My local Goodyear Tire Store replaced/ordered a new tire for my GS (nail in outer edge at 2K) but has issues trying to mount a 12" wheel.....I had to go next door to the Discount Tire Store. I thanked him for being up front with me.
