You don't have to have it shipped if you buy out of state, you can arrange a courtesy delivery with a local dealer and the car is shipped from the factory to the courtesy dealer-typically $300-500 paid to the courtesy dealer by you. You do the deal with the "far away dealer" and pay him and pick up the car at the "nearby dealer".
Agree, or just have a Museum Delivery and pick it up in Bowling Green! Just the best of all worlds. Best PDI you can get. If there is anything wrong with the car it goes back to the factory to be fixed before you get it. Besides, what a fun way to break it in on your drive home.
It also depends on where you live. I shopped till I dropped until I got the best deal I personally could. Mine was a base with transparent roof panel, Body color painted exterior vents, 8 speed paddle, Performance exhaust, PDA with navigation, Better floor mats.
I got it for 2K under invoice with options, and 4.3K under MSRP with options. From all the shopping, dickering, dealing and finagling I did that is the best I could come up with in the Pacific Northwest and through the forum dealers. By the way I know for a fact the dealer made $1603 on this rig.

Perhaps if you are doing a cross country delivery...... as it's winter I decided to at least get a few quotes to deliver from Kerbeck in Atlantic City, NJ to Gettysburg........ a whopping 180 miles. Maybe because it's a short haul, they aren't interested.
Got 3 quotes..... $895; $815; and $794.
Needless to say, we will just wait for a good couple days of good weather, once we know our special order Vette is in .... and drive there as we've done on 4 previous Kerbeck Vettes..... likely mid to late Feb.
Well, just for comparison, I contacted another dealer. They said that nobody can buy a Corvette anywhere in the country for invoice, lol. Needless to say, I'll contact the next one on my list. So now I have invoice as my "best" price, this dealer is within 2 hours drive.

When I had my 2014 Porsche 981 delivered from Tucson, AZ to Las Cruces, NM which is 274 miles the charge was $200.
My Porsche dealer had a local carrier that was an auto transport making runs from Phoenix to El Paso daily.
I too plan to order a 3LT 2017 Corvette when it comes out. I heard you can have the z06 grill installed from factory and side skirts as well. (This is important to me because the 3LT comes with front cameras and it might be expensive to swap grills with a built in camera)
Best offer so far is 9% off MSRP + No paperwork fee. I wonder which forum dealers are willing to beat that. If I can get 12% off, I make the drive from VA to any state to get that car.
No, that is not an option on the order sheet. Z06 grille only comes on the Z06. No options to change grill at the factory. Only way to do it is after delivery and ordering the Z06 grille -- which many do.
no discount on shipping, dealer pays same. remove it from your numbers before you calculate, then add full amount back
invoice for car is 93% , options are close enough to that to just call factory invoice at 93%, it will get you within a $100 of the correct number. Every GM car has a dealer holdback number of 3% which is rebated back to the dealer. Dealers also get factory to dealer incentives (not a consumer rebate - it varies and is not a published number) Then there is a consumer rebate. None currently offered on the C7 other than the credit union. One last thing, dealers also get what is called transportation certificates worth $250 each. They get allotments at the beginning of the month depending on what they do for loaners. They can give you up to 4 of those.
Ok, so to refresh, cost is 93% plus the holdback so they can sell at 90% with no other incentive and break even. Consumer rebates are separate and don't affect the dealer, should be straight pass through. Dealers also have access to another $1000 if they want to share 4 transport certs with you, and I have no idea when the credit union is and isn't available but again doesn't cost the dealer so just make sure you get it if it is available.
60k car example, cost with holdback is 54k minus 1000 in certs is 53k. You can also buy or use your own GM card rebates up to 3000.
Yes there are dealers who are selling for more than 10% plus 1000 off. They do so to increase their allocation and I'm sure the big dealers get month, quarter, or year end unit bonus to offset.
Just like other products, so people pay sticker while others get the deal of a lifetime. Some will say the dealer never sells cars at a loss. This isn't true. They don't sell the average at a loss, but some are in order to get the volume they get. If they didn't sell some at a loss they probably wouldn't have those sales and without those sales they don't get the volume factory to dealer rebate. Ultimately selling some at what appears to be a loss makes the ones they make a profit on a lot more profitable and the ones that in theory look like a loss to be a lot less of one or even break even.
BTW, if anyone is looking to buy a GM truck.... pretty hard to beat Laura GMC east side of STL right before model year change. This past Aug they had Denali's at 12k off sticker.
I just got an offer that upped the GM card limit to $5000 on C7 and C7 Z06. Others may be getting the same offer soon.

Ya would catch an Uber to go get it at those prices/

At first I assumed this was a "top off" offer like I've received in the past, where GM rounds UP your earnings: say you have $2600, they would allow $3000. The current offer that is not like that, sure you can use $5000 on Corvettes, but you have to have earned at least $5000.
I do believe transport companies don't price on a flat, predetermined scale. The pricing will depend on time of year, what their current schedule looks like, what runs they already have and whether you can be fit into an existing carrier and dropped along the way, etc. I think the best way of getting to know a price for transport is to call them and get a quote for the specific times you are looking for. You may be pleasantly surprised or disappointed depending on the combination of all the factors mentioned above.

Credit Union program ended last year (like August) for Corvette's. There are many threads on the forum regarding that. At any rate, no credit union discount anymore.

that would be awesome. I spend about 90k a year on my card so I accumulate almost that much every year. I did spend all of it 4 months ago on new sierra and yukon denali's but I almost have 3000 saved toward a new 17 c7. How did they notifiy you, part of the bill, emial, or special letter by mail? The card I have is the old world card that allows 5% on every dollar spent not just the first $250 on the first $5000 spent then drops back to 2% on the new ones.
I plan on buying a $60k car for 54k then get 3k rebate on top of that and hoping other rebates might be avail by then. Based on those numbers I think it actually makes sense to sell it every 12 months and starting new again........ No tire or extended warranty expense. Plus it means I can get a new color every year. Based on what I have seen used 1 year old 1LT with auto, buying 9000 off, I can probably get within 2-3000 of what I paid. $250 a month I will buy a new one every year all day long.

that is what I thought, but I saw a couple people saying they were using it on recent purchase. Maybe they were referring to purchases that were actually dated a few months before.
The main discount that most people don't know about, that I suspect is part of how Kerbeck and MacMulkin are offering 12% is the transportation vouchers of $250 each. I had a dealer in springfield mo tell me they get them based on the loaners and can add up to 4 per deal but on an available basis meaning first of the month is probably easier to get vs end.
I think a hard core negotiator can get 10-12% off as an outright purchase. Possibility of getting a slightly better deal if you use dealer financing as they do get bps points rebates from the lenders for selling the loan.

Correct. Sorry I wasn't clear on that. It's what I've got in the past also and thought before I opened this offer also.
They always send me these offers when I am not in the market for a new car

It was an offer in the mail and only good until the end of february unfortunately. Then it will likely go back to $3000 limit.
I too have an older card that is 5% on everything but has the model based cap.

seems like the top offs are typically in jan and feb. I haven't seen anything yet saying you can use 5000 on a 15 vette. It is esentially just adding a 2000 rebate to the 15 which I can't imagine that more than a handful of 15's are left anyway. I would choose a 16 over a 15 8 days a week if the only difference is 2000. Would hope any left over 15 have steep discount compared to a 16 as it is 7-8 months from having 17's out.
Also like you or someone else pointed out, you have to have the 5000 available too, not like a true rebate where it is just a factory discount. I do love my old GM card. The new ones stink where the 5% stops each year after the first 5000 then goes to 2%. NO THANKS, at that rate I would just use the 2% double cash back CITI card. At 5% on every dollar spent, if you are going to buy GM anyway, it can't be beat.
Dealer invoice is not actually the dealer price, as shown on the pricing guides. If the pricing schedule follows the same as the new Camaro, pricing would be as follows:
Dealer invoice is 96% of msrp for trim, 93% of msrp for options.
Dealer price is 93% of msrp for trim, 88% of msrp for options.
Employee price is 96% of dealer invoice, across the board.
