Default Thousand mile thoughts

We took a short jaunt today to get over the thousand mile mark on city streets, interstate and two-lane highways. Because of the cold weather it had been a week since I’d driven it and again I was reminded of how much fun this car is. So here are my Thousand Mile Thoughts.

1. Wow!
2.It took me too long to get to 1,000 miles (53 days).
3.This is the best car I’ve ever owned (of 30).
4.I’m glad I waited for 2016 (Long Beach Red).
5.The infotainment and DIC are pretty easy once you get the hang of them.
6.I now have to remember to take the key out of my wife’s SUV.
7.Rev Match is making me lazy. I could heel-and-toe myC5 pretty well.
8.The driver’s seat thigh bolster is definitely intrusive.
9.The transmission shifts pretty well but I’m going to look into an MGW unit toward Spring.
10. It’s just plain fun. I even got a wave from a Ferrari driver the other day.
11. It needs the side skirts (which are in the garage awaiting a day warm enough to paint them). Still pondering the mounting method. Wife likes the look so I feel a little better about drilling holes (I don’t like making holes in my walls either).
12. Sport mode most of the time (love the sound).
13. The CAGS eliminator was easy to install once I figured out the picture in the instructions was taken from above the trans and I was looking at it from below.
14. It feels solid, no matter the conditions (no major snow so far, but 34 degrees one day).
15. The effect of the Ackermann Effect would make me nervous unless the manual said it was normal.
16. The R8C was wonderful. Larry McCool lived up to his name. My wife had to have a wheelchair and there it was, parked beside the car waiting for our arrival. The process was quick and painless. He even recorded the departure from the floor on the PDR so I have two videos, one from the car and one of the car. I didn’t even mind that it was raining (it didn’t melt but it sure did get dirty).
17. The water blade doesn’t work as well on this as it did on the C5. I may have to invest in a Master Blaster.
18. Overall, I am very satisfied with the car.
19. Wow!

2016 Stingray coupe, LBR/Gray, Z51, 7M, MSRC.
CAGS eliminator, Lloyd mats, Mobil 1 oil cap, jacking pucks(so far).

Nice thoughts! Lol at having to remove a key. I drove my ex wife's Tahoe for a week and I was constantly leaving the key in it, or worse, jumping in it to go and then having to fish the key out of my pocket.

Sounds like you're enjoying your ride!

Very much so. It's hard to get the smile off my face.

Yep, 17,000 on my '15 and I feel about like you do. WOW!
You need to drive that thing more, I have had mine for 9 months.

So, I may have missed it, but do you like the car?

I got the ACS Zero 7 skirts unpainted. I'm going to undercoat the underside and paint the top Carbon Flash Metallic. The undercoat probably isn't needed but I thought it might deaden noise a little.

The MGW shifter is certainly worth the money. I've been using my shop vac in the blower mode to blow the car off before drying.

True. Medical issues with spousal unit have slowed us down, but by the Bash all will be better.
