Stupid engine light came on today, solid not blinking. Took it to the dealer who read the code and said car was in the wrong gear. Doh, it was not! Anyway he cleared the engine light. Sorry didn't get the code for you guys but has this ever happens to any of you? Car ran fine while the light was on. Still love my Punkin, she can do no wrong.

If it happens again and you have On Star press the blue light and ask them to tell you what the code number is and what it specifies is wrong.
, and maybe time to find another dealer to work on your car.
Probably a anomaly but if it's a automatic it could be a problem. Meaning the computer commanded a gear (let's say 3rd) but the trans stayed in 2nd for a bit longer. Possible shift solenoid etc.
The dealer should have been able to see the data when the error occurred as it gets stored. Everything from MPH, eng temp, speed etc.
Clearing the code is fine but if it happens again it will have to be addressed.
It's a manual transmission and the car was driving and shifting fine. I'd love to get my hands on one of those plug in analyzes, wonder how much they run?

Cheap, especially if you just want it to tell you the code. They can be picked up at Wal-Mart or any auto parts store.
Example: there are cheaper ones out there besdies this one.

I've been using a WiFi OBDII code reader bought on Amazon for $11 bucks the past 4 years.
here is a trick that works once you see a code light on and you feel all is well and OK just open both doors and walk away with your fob out of range that tells the computer to reset
the factory delivery museum guy when you pick up your car gave me this tidbit hope it helps i used this method once and it cleared the light
