After searching all the forum dealers, local dealers and some not so local we finally found a car close enough to what we wanted without having to order it and wait. At first we were going to buy a Z06, but it's for my wife and she said the Z51 was plenty of car for her (even though GM Employee applies to the Z06 now).
We found one in stock at Quality Chevrolet in Escondido with 98% of the options she wanted, like exposed carbon fiber roof, carbon flashed spoiler and rear view mirrors, carbon flashed emblems, black interior and no mag ride. We have a set of chrome Z06 wheels coming in at WCC any day now, but Torch Red with all black contrasting accoutrements looks pretty hot.
Window sticker was just south of $78,000 and the GM Employee discount dropped the price over $9K. The window sticker said it has the $500 carbon flash hood stinger stripe but the factory never installed it. Good thing because we would have moved on if it had it. We opted for a few dealer installed goodies to make up the difference instead.
