Default Engine skip or manual Trans slip

I have a 2018 C7 Convertible Manual Transmission, which at a steady speed will occasionally lurch for no reason. I can't tell if it is an engine skip or a transmission slip? Any comments appreciated

Sounds like an engine skip, could be a firing or fuel problem. You can tell if it is a clutch slipping when you drive it, get it up to speed and try accelerating. If the engine rpm's go up and the the car doesn't pick up a lot of speed, clutch would be slipping, probably not what it is. Would kinda feel like you are on wet pavement when tires are spinning but the car doesn't get any faster but the engine rev's up. A slipping clutch will not lurch at steady speed, you will only notice it when accelerating or pulling a hill if it gets bad enough.

Mostly in the higher manual gears, predominantly 4 & 5. I'll be cruising at about 45 to 55 MPH, the car will lurch and resume speed this happens in a second or less. It seems like engine skips but I'm not sure. Does anyone know if this 2018 Stingray 1LT 6-2L engine automatically shuts a few cylinders off? Does this manual transmission have an electric or hydraulic clutch? Thanks in advance for comments

What mode are you in when it happens?

As far as I know, the AFM system that shuts 4 of the cylinders down will not work on a car with an M7 transmission unless you put it in eco mode.

Check for a loose plug wire...really

Just had the same problem on my GS

Would not do it when you were accelerating up through the gears

Would only do it at low RPMs in 5+

Felt exactly like a transmission skip

Regards
Chip
