**Update** GM District Manager Aftersales determined the crack to the tire was not caused by road damage. Based on the mileage (under 12,000) GM is going to replace the tire.

Had the front tires replaced the other day at West Coast Corvette. Looking over the defective tire, I found a couple more cracks in the center groove of the tire. These cracks (see below) are in addition to the initial cracks I found on the inner rain groove of the tire. Pretty scary if you think about it, especially when you might be driving down the freeway at freeway speeds.
