I just did a 4 hour trip to vegas. Right when I got to Vegas. I got a warning saying car is overheating shutting down air conditioning. I was not pushing the car hard at all. The only thing different was I purchased a cheap car charger that I started using for the first time.
Charger has nothing to do with an overheating condition, IMO.
Actual gauge reading confirm an overheating condition?
You're under warranty & this should be checked out before it possibly craps-out when you least need the hassle. Hopefully a simple fix,a bad sensor etc. G/L
Might head to the dealer and get it checked out. Could be a sensor, thermostat, lead in a hose...not something to mess with. I would look for water dripping or a puddle under the car, also check the fluid level for the radiator.

But for some reason these cars run really to high for me. Mine when all stock was running way to high with the air cond on in 95 plus weather. So what I did was get me a De witts rad for the car plus a LMR housing with a lower 160 for it now my car runs in the 190,s.
I really don't care what the factory says r anyone else that these car run normal in the 230 deg,s not for me in the stuff that these heads & block are made of. Just a few more deg's higher & you have lost a motor & heads. Robert

Please post what you find out so we can all learn. Thx.

My '15 C7, from day one, in Texas summers, runs in the 190s - 22,000 miles...
This does not sound right. A car should not overheat with normal driving unless the coolant is low. You should go to the dealer and ask them to check this out.

Yes Robert, it's called ENGINEERING... They need to extract the best possible fuel economy, and the lowest tailpipe emissions. That dictates that the engine runs hotter than most people are used too.
Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean that you are smarter than the rooms full of actual engineers that did millions of miles of testing to ensure it was ok...

Mine runs at 195 while moving. If I'm sitting still, it'll creep up to 210 sometimes. When I did a few back to back runs through 2nd and 3rd gear it started creeping up to 220. I've never seen my car at 230...
You can at least check to see if it is low on coolant yourself.

It sounds like the OP has a real issue though. All cars do tend to run hotter these days. Below 190 can create problems of its own.
Same exact overheating issue and message here. Just did a 5 hour trip from Vegas to Yuma. Overheated. Temp gauge had a pegged temp needle. Got about 4 warning messages. So I stopped, about 80 miles from Yuma. The car released fluid through the overflow. Waited about five minutes with the hood up, and continued on. Oil change service message came on. Oil life remaining info had gone from 42% to 0% all at once. At Fisher Chevy in Yuma right now. At least I have a free rental car.

You have owned the car for a while, you know what "normal" is... When it starts doing something that isn't normal, (like temp gauge moves out of the normal area and heads for the peg), why not pull over then instead of waiting til you get the "it's too late, you killed it" messages?
I have never, ever, had a car that fixed itself when it comes to overheating. It could be something as simple as a fuse, or as bad as a cracked head, but they never fixed themselves.
