It your TC gone bad. get it to the dealer ASAP. First what I did so they didn't give me the failure to replicate line is I videoed it on my phone to show them. 2 weeks later and we are on the second full tear down. after installing a new torque converter I drove it 4 miles only to have the clutches in the rear end lock up and when they drained the oil out came metal shavings. Now the second tear down is in progress to find out just hoe extensive this is. I do believe they will also be putting a second TC in as the oil pressure was surging again. Yes I have an A8.
OK, just got a call from the dealer and they are ordering a complete differential, two weeks to get it! They are still looking for more damage to TC and transmission.
