Default Wheel Lock Question

As I am waiting for our car to get built next week, I can't recall if Wheel Locks come from Chevy with this, or if I need to get them myself. Did anyone get them with their car, or have to purchase separately? We have the 19" and 20" Chrome wheels ordered on the car.... Q7E.

Thanks,

GM sells them. Here's one option: http://www.cultragfactoryparts.com/oe-gm/19211919

I usually buy McGard wheel locks but the discounted price for the GM locks is as good or better and they are decent quality. I ordered a set and am pleased with them.

Yes, I have used McGard several times and was about to order them from Amazon. I'll look up the GM ones available from Cultrag

If I were buying locks today, I'd buy the Gorilla Spline locks with a rotating end spline. I haven't seen anyone show a tool that would get those off other than welding the end.

Check out GOR71631X
12mm X 1.50

The dealership parts counter will have wheel locks designed for the C7. They are McGard brand in GM packaging, but designed to be equal in size and weight to the OEM lug nuts. They were $40 for the set of 4 + key. Part # 19211919.

Slight weight differences that close to the center of rotation and not important.

I pulled my original invoice from 2014 and edited above with the exact price and part number. I was charged retail by my dealer parts dept, they're definitely cheaper from Cultrag. The part number agrees with the Cultrag link.

If it matters, the McGard wheel locks are made in the US. I'm not sure where the Gorilla and GM lock as are made

McGard's are probably what GM sells and you can get them on line or from McGard for half or less than what GM charges you. When I got mine 19 mo ago, I did pay less than half of GM's bill. Don

Thanks,
GM sells McGard locks under their name as an accessory. I bought chrome McGard, part number 24137.
Put the part number in Google and get the best price! Cheaper than getting from GM.
After having a Gorilla lock break when trying to get it off my truck many years ago, I always use McGard. Just my experience.

Thanks...... just ordered McGard's from Amazon for $21 / set. I've used their products for years on other cars, and our boat prop

Default Multiple locks

As someone pointed out in another post, two locks per wheel adds quite a bit of security since it can deter a thief from snapping off one lone lock with using the wheel for leverage.
That being said (and maybe it is overkill) I wonder if a person could buy multiple McGard locks keyed alike so the same key could be used for both locks?
