Don’t dealers get paid by GM to perform warranty work?
You can try GM Canada to see if they can open an assistance case for you: http://www.gm.ca/gm/english/corporat...actus/overview

And if you don't want to drive in M all of the time use a Range module which plugs into the OBD-II port and prevents it from going into V4 mode.

Long-term I would keep the car out of V4 mode either using manual mode or the Range module. If you want to operate a C7 in 4 cylinder mode buy a manual transmission since they don't try to destroy the manual clutch in an attempt to make AFM more palatable.

In this case, I should have bought a manual from the start.

My prior post left out the intended phrase "in 4 cylinder mode", fixed on edit. I have no complaints about the A8 in my March 2016 build Z06.

When you defeat V4 mode it is a pretty nice setup.

Dropped my ‘16 Z51, 8300 miles off today for the flush. Had the shuddering at cruising speeds, hard hits when accelerating from cruising at 35 & giving it some gas. Noticed the issue two weeks ago, drove another 50 miles to be sure. Tech here wasn’t too optimistic about the flush working, seeing as they’ve got two others currently in for new torque converters.

Hoping i I caught it early enough!

Is this ongoing in the 2018 & 2019 cars?

We had the triple flush done on both my wife's 16' SS Camaro A8 and my dad's 15' Z51 A8, the triple flush stopped the shuddering completely on both.

My C7Z goes in on Monday for the triple flush as its starting to shudder a bit at 5400 miles. Hopefully I have the same luck.

Triple flush also fixed mine except for the RPM fluctuations at steady throttle. Put in a Range AFM disabler and now it's good. The way it should have been from the git-go.

Is the flush done under factory warranty?

Guys,

Just so you know we have a new oil pan for the A8 transmission that holds almost a full gallon more transmission fluid. That helps in cooling and trans fluid life and eliminates some of the problems that this thread is pointing out.

Does NOT compromise ground clearance but uses all available space to increase capacity.

Give us a call

Available from LG Motorsports and all of our dealers.
Thanks
Lou Gigliotti

^ Thought about it. I'm sure GM would love to see one installed while I was having problems with my A8. They would be very happy to use that as an excuse to terminate the factory warranty, justified or not.

Maybe after I supercharge my car.

Yes, saves GM (sometimes) from replacing the Torque Converter.

How do you defeat the V-4?

Put the transmission in manual mode (with the driver mode in any setting EXCEPT eco) or use a Range anti-AFM module or have the ECM tuned.

The first is free, the Range module is pretty cheap, and the tuning can cost your warranty coverage.

I leave my 2016 Z06 in manual most of the time but sometimes use the Range module.

...is this the same 8L90 8-speed Auto that's in the ZR-1? I'd imagine the ZR-1 has additional transmission cooling. Maybe?

2015 A8 with the shuddering and RPM variances.

When weather better, I'll get the triple flush done and go from there.

We destroyed 3 A8 transmissions but we had big power. Over 1500 hp and it will not make a single run either in a 1/2 mile or 1/4 mile.

We will be building a Manual car for future runs.

Mine is in the shop now getting a new TC. I was worried that they would say failure to replicate so i videoed the dash with the oil pressure surging and the tack rising and falling with no change in MPH, also included video of what gear it was in so they couldn't say that it was changing gears. All this on flat surface (thats all we have in FL). Dealer is changing TC with no argument and I think the video helped me.
