Can you please tell me from where you bought the flat carbon fiber lower console piece, please?
http://www.eapsisusa.com $198+$46 shipping. SKU: LR-CHE09-84-BC It was pricey but it looks 3D gloss exactly like in Mercedes E and S series. The cheaper ones I see out there look like vinyl or matted or has the old checker pattern instead of the newer diagonal twill pattern. You pop the old one out and the new one in. They sell matted too.
Here's a closer view of mine:
Has anyone mentioned the nice matching black patches you can get to cover the yellow stickers on the visors? They are invisible to the eye; cost next to nothing; easier than laboring over heating and striping them off - I'd screw that up.
I have weathertech and after a 700 mile round trip to Atlanta I would have to agree with you. I think new Mats are in my future! I’ll save the weathertech mats for winter.

That was one of the first things I did after I bought my C7.
I tried driving with Minimus sneakers--almost like barefoot--but found it very tiring. Having a sole down there to support your foot actually turns out to be more comfortable. Well-broken-in running shoes seem most comfortable.
Too much red drawing attention to the *****, I think. A lot of effort goes into designing these interiors, and making a major change like this often doesn't work out well, in my opinion.
