It's hard to say/predict. I have a 2015 A8 and am not going to worry about it. If I start having trans issues, I'll know to get it fixed sooner than later. While we're seeing some issues surfacing, they've sold thousands of A8 equipped cars so the ones we are seeing are a small percentage of what has been produced.

I have a '15 with absolutely no issues. But I also know what to watch for (thanks to many on this forum) and if it develops issues my dealer will fix it under warranty no problem. I'm not sweating it at all - going to drive it and enjoy it. My wife's Yukon Denali has an A8 too - GMC did a recall on those for a new wiring harness which fixed a sporadic hard downshift issue. GM identified it and fixed it. Enjoy!
Don't worry about something that hasn't happened, your life's full of things that need your attention now. Take care of those first. You may never experience a problem.
As mentioned, drive your car and enjoy it. Don't worry about something that might never happen. I have posted the symptoms of a bad torque converter and you should know the symptoms. If you don't have these symptoms, consider yourself lucky and enjoy your car. My problem was I was having the symptoms of torque converter failure and did not know what they were and was just driving around wondering what was going on with my transmission. The first dealer I took my car to said I had no problems with my transmission. Finally found one who had already diagnosed several cars with torque converter failure and properly diagnosed mine.
