The new 2016 comes with the D style steering wheel, many have retro fitted their older C7s to the new design. The wheel does look good however looks might not be everything? I sometimes run my car in gymkana events where considerable steering input is required as you maneuver the car through the course. Has anyone encountered any negative D wheel interference during rapid steering wheel movement? I also control the car's self centering tendency as I come out of a turn by braking the steering wheel with my hands. Have any drivers noticed any negatives with the D shaped wheel during rapid left and right turns while performance driving?
Mine is on order so I can't yet specifically speak to the Corvette, but, I did have one on my MX-5 Miata and it was fantastic. Quick, full-lock turns, return to center no problem, and certainly more room to move about. I went a bit more extreme with the MX-5, removing the airbag all together which I won't be doing on the Vette.
Thanks, my steering wheel is a blur at times as I travel the course. Was just thinking if the design will hinder rapid performance steering inputs? Might feel odd when you grab hold of the flattened area of the wheel during rapid left and right steering.
Mine's even more extreme and absolutely no problem after you come acquainted...a little odd at first then your mind and hands adjust and it becomes second nature.
I think Indy cars use flat bottom and flat top steering wheels so I would think the flat bottom would not hurt your steering. You would have to just get in some practice.

Yes but Indy cars never turn wheel more than half a turn right or left.

I would have the same concern at AutoX where there are times I let the wheel center itself from almost full lock. Will keep my round wheel.
