Default First Vette

Well I have wanted one since I was a kid and finally ordered my first Corvette on Jan 15th from my local dealer. At that time they thought they could get a Z51 allocation in time to deliver by mid March. Last week they called and said they were informed by GM that it would probably be April or later before they would get their next allocation for a Z51 but they would find me a car. The next day they found almost the exact car I had ordered 5 hours away and were trying to trade for it. They ended up making the drive to the other dealership and trailering home my new ride. We had already settled on a number so we added invoice price for the options this car had over the one I ordered and they did not charge me for going to get it. It's a new 2016 2LT Z51 with Nav/PDR. I have already pulled the front license plate and added the factory GM splash guards. We are supposed to get temps in the 60's late this week. I can't wait to get some miles on it.

The C7s sure are purty. I'll have to wait until the demand for the used ones goes down a bit. They have a super nice 14 convertible for 52 in my area, but until the kid grows up, I'll have to stick with the C6, which is hardly suffering.

Congrats, there's nothing like your first Vette. Doesn't matter how many more you buy or what model they are, the first is always the memorable one. You've got a beauty.

Dan036,
That is a beautiful car, congratulations on your purchase!!

You must be an old guy, because you have those chrome wheels, HAHAHA, I have them too.

I hope you find that humorous, as that is how it is intended, and it goes along with some of the current threads on the forum.

Welcome to Corvette ownership, and a great forum,
George

I have been following the chrome wheel poll. Actually I am in my 50's and I do like the look of chrome. Nothing wrong with black wheels either, I just like a little bling.
