I know this has been discussed previously, I have a 2016 Z51, I want to remove the moving grid lines or make them fixed lines, I have gone into vehicle settings but their is no dropdown for rearview camera. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
Turning the Features On or Off
To turn off the guidance lines:
1. On the infotainment system, press the Settings screen button, or turn the MENU **** to highlight Settings and
press MENU.
2. Select Rear Camera.
3. Select Guidance Lines and then select Off or On.
Thank you Rooster OG, tried doing that while reading the manual but rearview camera is not a choosable option, could they have taken this option away mid year?
I'm at a lose, I've tried it with engine off and on, I just dont have a rear camera option in the vehicle settings. Does anybody else have it or not have it? Yes it may be helpful while parking, but for me the moving lines are difficult while backing into my garage. I think I prefer fixed lines or no lines like my other vehicles.
Press the Home hard button on the center console, then press the Settings icon (gear). you are at the top level. Scroll down until you see the Rear Camera item. Select (press) it. Hopefully you have it there as well and this is not something that was eliminated in 2016.
It's not on my 2016 either. Lol. I never looked because I like having the lines. I'm wondering if different builds of 2016's have it like the performance & lap timer that are missing on early builds.
Thanks everybody, I guess I will just have to deal with the moving lines. Thanks again
Mention it to the service manager the next time you go in. But try this first. This has helped with three issues I have had. And quite frankly, those are the only issues I have had. Open both doors to the car. Leave the car so the key fob is out of range. Wait about 15 minutes. Go back to the car and close both doors before you get in. You may here the horn and the lights may flash. Now start the car and try to to look at settings again. I know this sounds crazy but I had a GM representative share this with me when I had my first minor issue with the car. It fixed it. And subsequently fixed two more issues I had.
