I assume you are talking about leaves that get past the cross mesh in the intakes. Not a problem. The ducting tops short of the coolers, so they will just drop to the ground when they go down the ducts.

I'm not sure they are functional regardless. Might depend on what C7 you have. From what I have read on the base C7, the manual has no working vents back there, the auto has one side open, and the 51 has both sides open. You might want to check and I could be wrong but.......

On the convertible, vents in the wheel wells replace the vents that are on the top of the coupe's rear quarter panels. The function is the same:
Rear Quarter Panel Intakes (vents)
Z51- both vents are functional
1 is for the transmission cooler
1 is for the differential cooler
Non-Z51 Automatic Transmission
Automatics have a functional vent for the transmission
Other is blocked off/non-functional
Non-z51 Manual Transmission
Both vents blocked off
Rear Quarter Panel Intakes (vents)
Z51- both vents are functional
1 is for the transmission cooler
1 is for the differential cooler
Non-Z51 Automatic Transmission
Automatics have a functional vent for the transmission
Other is blocked off/non-functional
Non-z51 Manual Transmission
Both vents blocked off
