My first Corvette!
I liked Mustangs and Camaros but never really loved them. Vipers seemed a little over the top and ridiculous. I always respected Corvettes, but they never really spoke to me...until I saw the C7! WOW! I knew i had to have one.
The opportunity didn't arise until a few weeks ago. My wife and I were looking for a used SUV with three rows for carpooling purposes (needed room for 5 kids). On a whim I decided to try something. I said to my wife, if we could find a relatively inexpensive used SUV then we could afford a lightly used Corvette as well. Her response, "OK." I may have peed myself a little! What a woman!
We ended up at a Chevy, Buick, GMC dealer and I told the salesman if we could get a good deal on an SUV I might be interested in buying a Corvette as well. We ended up finding the used SUV we needed, so I gave the salesman the specs I wanted on the C7. He said finding a used Corvette that matches your exact specs is rare and you might have to wait a long time or compromise on what exactly you're looking for, but he would try his best.
It turns out 3 days later (it must have been fate) a
car was coming up at a closed dealer auction that exceeded what I was looking for. They were able to buy the car at auction and I got my new/used C7.
It's a 2014 Arctic White Z51 M7 with 3lt adrenaline red interior, carbon flash mirrors and spoiler, 2 roof package including the carbon fiber, black rims, carbon fiber dash and only 1,091 miles. I couldn't be happier. What a car! I've been looking at this board for a long time, but now that I'm in the owner's circle I finally decided to post. Thanks for all of the information you've shared over the years.
I can really relate to you with the whole switch from european cars. IMO they are really nice overall, but overrated at the same time. The base 911 cost dam near 100k now! The corvette so much car for the money.
