Default My first Corvette!

To be honest I always thought I would end up buying a 911. From the time I was a kid, it was the benchmark for sports cars (not including exotics). However, after owning a few expensive European vehicles and having to pay to have them repaired, the shine started to fade. I decided to entertain the thought of something built in the old US of A.

I liked Mustangs and Camaros but never really loved them. Vipers seemed a little over the top and ridiculous. I always respected Corvettes, but they never really spoke to me...until I saw the C7! WOW! I knew i had to have one.

The opportunity didn't arise until a few weeks ago. My wife and I were looking for a used SUV with three rows for carpooling purposes (needed room for 5 kids). On a whim I decided to try something. I said to my wife, if we could find a relatively inexpensive used SUV then we could afford a lightly used Corvette as well. Her response, "OK." I may have peed myself a little! What a woman!

We ended up at a Chevy, Buick, GMC dealer and I told the salesman if we could get a good deal on an SUV I might be interested in buying a Corvette as well. We ended up finding the used SUV we needed, so I gave the salesman the specs I wanted on the C7. He said finding a used Corvette that matches your exact specs is rare and you might have to wait a long time or compromise on what exactly you're looking for, but he would try his best.

It turns out 3 days later (it must have been fate) a

car was coming up at a closed dealer auction that exceeded what I was looking for. They were able to buy the car at auction and I got my new/used C7.

It's a 2014 Arctic White Z51 M7 with 3lt adrenaline red interior, carbon flash mirrors and spoiler, 2 roof package including the carbon fiber, black rims, carbon fiber dash and only 1,091 miles. I couldn't be happier. What a car! I've been looking at this board for a long time, but now that I'm in the owner's circle I finally decided to post. Thanks for all of the information you've shared over the years.

That car is so sexy.

I can really relate to you with the whole switch from european cars. IMO they are really nice overall, but overrated at the same time. The base 911 cost dam near 100k now! The corvette so much car for the money.

Love the color!!! I got a white one myself. Funny story tonight i went to get food at the diner and when i got out i had some guy waiting in front of my car. Then came the pile of compliments!! He made such a big fuss about it that i couldnt help but smile. Be prepared to entertain a lot of folks with questions and compliments, you are gonna love it. Same as you i wanted a 911 but me being a young guy just didn't have the budget to get one. I settled for the stingray and let me tell you, it isnt settled for the corvette anymore, it was the absolute best choice ever! Enjoy it man!!

I'm unaware of this budget you speak of. I could've swung something more but shouldn't have and didn't. I don't feel I settled at all either. I can't imagine what else I could want. I recently got a white one too. OP's face is going to hurt from all the smiling.

Now if something does go wrong you bring it to a Chevy dealer. Big difference than bringing it to a Porsche dealer, and other Corvette owners will actually wave to you.

Congratulations on your Vette. I am certain you will enjoy owning and driving it.

Very nice looking Vette. I am a fan of Arctic White Vettes. Three of my five Vettes have been AW.

Enjoy your Vette.
