I was at museum last yr. And never saw staging area or holding area/lot after vettes were built. Question, are the new vettes shipped ASAP after they are built and are all vettes shipped via car hauler or some via rail or is there a holding area i didn't see. Reason i ask is my build date is 3/21/16 so i am hoping it is shipped ASAP so i may get it by months end. Any opinions on this? Thanks
My 2015 was built 9/15/14 (2015 Z51 A8) and was then trucked to New Boston, MI's Distribution Center to await rail shipment. Was shipped by rail 10/20/14, arrived in Selkirk, NY's railyard 10/27/14. I picked up the car 11/1/14. That's just my experience, many newer vehicles seem to be shipped so much faster.
Good luck!
They go outside and wait. They all get covered, then leave by truck no matter where their destination:
I wonder if they get covered only when there ready to ship, I see a lot of color on the lot.
I have a car sitting there to be picked up at the museum on the 29th, where can I go to get a current satellite view?

Google Maps. Plug in the address and switch to satellite view.
I have never seen a real time satellite view available to the public. Anything you find on the net is aged a bit.

I'm a pilot and fly in and out of Bowling Green several times a year. There are always what I would guess a thousand vettes waiting to be shipped. Keep in mind that all haulers have 11 vettes when they leave the plant. When sales are slow the lot tends to have more cars and during the first production runs of the C7s they could not hold them all so many were shipped to TN before finally being delivered to the dealers.
Cars in the Eastern States are shipped by truck. Cars for certain Western States are trucked to Toledo, OH and then sent West by rail.
In your case it will be a truck shipment. Trucks are loaded to minimize stops. So, they will wait until they have a full truck load going to a particular area before shipping.

When ours was built last September, it seemed some cars with the same TPW were delivered before others were built. For some it appeared the cars came off the line and onto the trucks.
AS Boiler *1 stated, when they have a full truck they will ship.

All C7's start their journey by truck. Those going to dealers more than 1000 miles (approx.) from Bowling Green are trucked to Toledo where they are transferred to rail. Depending on where it's going, it may be handled by more than one rail line. Ultimately it is off loaded at a rail yard and then is delivered to the dealer via truck. Those going less than 1000 miles are shipped by truck straight to the dealer.
Supposedly, Cooper Transport has 10 days to get the car loaded on a truck from the time GM releases it for shipping.
North Houston has a huge marshaling yard where incoming vehicles are off loaded and then reloaded on specific carriers for dealership deliveries.
Maybe I should have said NORTHeast Texas. These we're headed south towards Houston. The wife was headed north. They were probably less than 700 miles from Bowling Green KY.
Mine was delivered to the dealer 8 calendar days after it was built. Dealer was less than a day's drive from BG. My car was the only one on the transport that was not going to Toledo. Note the way it was loaded at the factory, mine was on the lower rack directly behind the tractor. Go figure.
