C7 Corvette Grand Sport Tells New Porsche 911R to Eat Crap
Unlike the Porsche 911R, which just debuted and is already sold out, the new Corvette Grand Sport will quench the thirst of enthusiasts until there’s thirst no more!

So Jerry says this today: "and is not a limited production model. Yes, you read right, unlike the Porsche 911R which just debuted and is already sold out, Corvette will quench the thirst of Corvette lovers until there’s thirst no more!"
And Detroit Steel says this today: "Those dreams of owning a new Corvette Grand Sport just took a bit of turn with news that Chevy will likely only produce 1,000 units of the new C7 variant."
So which is it, boys? Do you "Corvette Forum Writers" ever talk to each other?

The Collectors Edition is sure to be limited. The Gray with blue interior. Which is what that say the plaque on. Same way the C7.R Z06 edition was limited last year.
The regular Grand Sport though, it may be constrained to an extent, so in a way they can limit the amount produced, but nowhere near 1000 units. I mean they still have the Painted hardtop for coupes "limited" after 3 years of production due to the supplier.
sad really

Basically the complaint is Porsche has already sold out of the 911R since they are only making 911 of them yet show it at a major car show like it will be available to purchase. Meanwhile GM is even taking orders for the 2017 Corvette, in any form not to mention the Grand Sport version.
I don't really get the point either but someone was mad about it and probably couldn't even afford a 911-R anyways.

Editors....have no clue to the origins of the word. They need to learn the meaning of proof read. This material might be more comfortable as the basis for Mad magazine.
As stated by Rooster OG it's a win win for both companies.
