Default Should I wait?

Hi Everyone,

I'm ready to pull the trigger Finally

I'm curious if anyone thinks I should wait to see if GM comes out with any incentives. Currently there is the $1,000 rebate if you trade in a non gm vehicle but that won't work for me. I'm trying to see how many GM points I'm allowed to use but I know there are usually additional discounts as well.

I haven't seen a USAA discount or a credit union discount listed anywhere.

Anyways, I ask because I read somewhere sales were down 20% February compared to February 2015. Plus the announcement of the GS makes me think some who were going to purchase will be holding back until August. I love the GS look but for me it's not as noticeable as it was with the C6. In fact, it's hard for some people to tell unless they know what they are looking at. Still an awesome looking car but I won't lose any sleep over having a Z51.

What do you guys think? Any insider info?

Currently there are really no color choices, only Long Beach Red. Just have; red, white, black and silver. Oh yes, don't forget yellow. Seems there is a blue and gray on the horizon. Disappointing!

I think the current 12% off and $1000 bonus will be as good as it gets unless you want to miss the summer and wait for a 2016 leftovers in the fall.

We are coming up on the nice weather when the vettes sell the most. If there were going to be any further incentives, it would have happened over the coldest winter months and I think 12% was it.

You don't need to trade in a non GM car you only need to own one to get the $1000 off.

Correct...... this is what we did.

To help answer the OP's original question, is you could WAIT FOREVER waiting for multiple incentives...... who knows when USAA will put their incentive back on..... I've used that one on 2 different previous Vettes. Wasn't offered when we just bought ours.

In fact, there were NO offers when we ordered mid Dec but when the car came in and ready for pick up, there was the $1000 off for NON GM owners.

Just bought my Coupe in Oklahoma City two weeks ago. It was like pulling teeth to get the dealer down 6% off sticker.

USAA Car buyer service is basically a joke & they send your name and e-mail address to every dealer in 100 miles.

However, the dealer could not beat their finance rates. They are very difficult to use - i.e. logging into a crappy website at the dealer's finance office to get them their certificate. But, I was shooting for that low interest rate.

Dealer's know which cars people want, and are more willing to deal with the ones they've had for a couple of months.

Best of luck to you & enjoy the experience! I cannot get the smile off me face!!!!

Yeah this was what I was thinking. 12% off and roughly 1700 GM points will do nicely Can't wait to post some pictures!

I'm in the same position as you. I've been waiting for my dealer to get their next round of allocations this Thursday and I'm ready to pull the trigger. You can bet that some will hold out and wait for the GS and therefore further curb 2016 Z51 sales. I don't see dealers going any lower than 12% off in the near future, seems to be a bottom for now. If you can find something in stock optioned like you want, I would grab it by the 14th before the conquest rebate expires. I checked with my dealer today about the USAA discount and he confirmed that it had already expired. I can only hope that when I take delivery that there might be new rebates or incentives as I would be eligible to get them at that time. If you figure the current discounts on a typical Z51 2LT now (8-9K) combined with the what will likely be at least a 5k increase and no discounting off msrp initially, that's at least a 13k savings and a summer's worth of spirited driving

There's always going to be a newer model with additional features coming, so you could wait forever if wanting the "latest & greatest". The current discounts for 2016 won't get any better unless you wait for leftovers in the fall - but then you will have missed driving this summer. It's still early enough to order your exact dream car and get a great discount.

The USAA Discount being referred to here used to be a $750 discount IF YOU have USAA Car insurance.... nothing to do with using their buying service.

A few Corvettes ago, we were picking up our new Vette at Kerbeck and I didn't know about the $750 USAA Rebate for having them for car insurance. When we met with the Business Mgr for signing paperwork and he saw that we had USAA they cut us a check for it....... This was TOTALLY after the deal was done and we were signing. Nice surprise.

We asked again this time, but no USAA promotion going. Just the $1k for owning a NON GM car which we did get.

I see that you mentioned USAA discount. I have seen USAA discounts of about $750 in the past just for being a member/having their insurance. However, if you are a USAA member (which I'm guessing you are), I would log into your USAA account and use their car buying section to build the car you want. It will tell you the price and I believe it also tells you what dealers in your area will work with USAA. I just used them for the car I ordered on 1/11/2016 and then picked up at the dealer 2 days ago. When I was ordering the car, I told them I am using the USAA car buying service. After I built the car, they adjusted the price to the car buying service price. I ended up saving around $4000. I then saved another $1000 because I drove a Dodge truck to the dealer the day I picked the car up. Just my 2 cents. Hope it helps.

I'd wait until the 2017 model is announced. That's only 1 month away for the information (after NCM bash) and 2 months away (May 26) until it's available for order. Who knows what goodies may be in stored... 1000$ off on a 70k car isn't really much and well worth waiting for in my opinion.

As for me? If nothing "new" is added, I will just order a 2016 3LT Z51 @ 12% off from one of the Forum Dealers. If there IS something new (which usually is the case), I will be very happy that I waited.

Some people always find a reason to wait and those same people are the ones who utter "I should have just done it when I first had the chance".
Don't wait, get it, enjoy it and don't look back.

If you wait for "the next big deal", or "the newest features", you could be waiting forever. Time is finite. Get your car now and enjoy it.

I would look around buy something pre-built but don't take more car than you want.

If I did mine over I would have just bought an ordinary convert. instead of buying a Z51 I had no need for all the extra things in the Z51.

If you don't plan on ever seeing a drag strip why get a car made for the strip, it was a mistake I made, if I ever buy another C7 it will just be the ordinary car.
