Default Registration Renewal

Just received my first renewal notice on the Z. I have to pay $666 As my car has been in the shop several times in the first year, I hope this is not an indication of how this year will turn out

Would have been better if the fee was $777.

Ha! You guys pay chump change. Next month I will renew my 2015 C7 at a cost of $982. And, I live in the most red state in all of the 50 US states, Nebraska which is totally run by Republicans who are for less taxes and less government. Another big laugh!

Ouch. Yes, that is the ploy, low taxes, but watch out for those "fees". Taxes by another name....

I thought $36.00 was bad, and we have a stupid Pennsylvania safety inspection once a year.

Move to Texas. Road use taxes should be based on weight of vehicle, not value.

Wow!

I feel better now; mine is due next month, and it's only $135 For TWO YEARS! .

The Vette cost less than most vehicles to register in Maryland, because it's less than 3,700 lb. Heavier vehicles cost $187 for two years.

Plus $50/year for vanity plates and $10 for bay plates.

In Iowa my 2016 Z06 registration is $981 yearly. It is computed on retail (MSRP) for 7 years from date of purchase.
My 2011 Grand Sport was $666

Do you pay personal property taxes in TN? Va registration is not too bad, but we have to pay personal property taxes as well as annual inspection and emissions inspection every two years.

Yep. Iowa needs money. Not sure what they do with it all. At some point every day dodging pot holes, I wonder why I live here. My stingray vert is only $610 a year. What a deal.

Mine was over $4K to put plate on when new. Sales Tax, reg, plates, etc. I bought out of state so I paid the sales tax at the DMV vs. at the dealer.

Registration renewal is only $80 every 2 years and inspection is about $30 a year.

New York state.

As blue max says, $25 in Tennessee to renew or purchase a tag. My county adds $24 for a wheel tax. No personal property tax other than home/land property tax, no state income tax either. Although we have a 9.4 % sales tax which adds up over time, especially on big ticket items. Tennessee is one of the cheapest states to live in, tax wise. (I can hear the moving vans coming in now )

$130 for 2 years with a vanity plate. I guess that's a bargain.

I'm already dreading the walk to the DMV to register the vet when it gets here. I'm anticipating my registration for the first year to be around $1400-$1500. Next year will be around $1000.

With that being said, our property tax's are around 1%. My philosophy, they're going to get us somewhere, keep voting how I vote and hopefully they won't get us as bad.
