I was at the Chevy site building my Corvette for about the hundredth time and I have a question for you guys. Does anyone know the difference between the "Hood stinger stripe, Carbon Flash" for $500 or "Decal / Stripe Package (Carbon Flash)" for $250?

I'm pretty sure the $500 price is what you pay when you have it ordered to be installed at the plant and the $250 price is what you pay if you want to order the stinger stripe separate and install it yourself (post delivery).

I don't think so. I don't think that parts for the owner to install would be part of the "Build your Corvette" page.

Anyone else have an idea?

They have the exact same description, I'd get the cheaper one!

The $500 sticker is an 'option', which means installed at the plant.

The $250 sticker is an 'accessory', which means installed by your dealer just prior to delivery.

If your car will be shipped to a dealer, shouldn't be a difference. If you're doing R8C, it has to be installed at the plant.

Might be an up charge by the installer. More than likely it will still be less that the $500 charged by Chevy. Or you could do it yourself.

There are several accessories you can add to the build on the website that would actually be shipped separately from the car and not added to the car at the plant. By the way, you can order the $250 stinger from Cultrag for less than $200.
