Playlist help needed
I don't use itunes but have a few hundred songs I want to put on my USB drive. Can anyone tell me how to make playlists so my car doesn't play the same song over and over again. I did a search and it always comes back to itunes. Thanks
In Windows, absolutely the simplest and quickest way to create a playlist is to work from a command window. Once you have your songs on the USB device, note the drive letter of the device. You can use windows explorer for this. Now, open a command window. This may be a little different depending on the operating system but Mr. Google can be a great help here. Once you have a command window open, type in the following commands: (without the quotes of course)
"d:" [ Use the drive letter you found with explorer -it could be any letter- in this case it is d]
Next, type in this command:
"dir *.mp3 /b>Playlist.m3u" [You can cut and past that (between the quotes) into the command window if you want]
To verify you have indeed created the playlist, type in "notepad Playlist.m3u" which should open your playlist in the notepad program.
This seriously takes less than five seconds and puts all of your mp3's on the playlist. Of course to name it something other than Playlist, just substitute your name for it in place of "Playlist" in the command line.
I use the following to make My playlists:
