Default Hard Shifts

I occasionally like to let the clutch out fairly quickly when under heavy acceleration as I'm upshifting through the gears. It makes the car slightly jerk. I enjoy it on occasion as it makes the shifting and acceleration feel more visceral and violent. I'm not dumping the clutch, just letting it out a tad too quick as I go into 2nd and 3rd. To me it offers an experience the autos can't deliver.

I know ideally you want smooth up shifts for optimal acceleration but occasionally this is fun to do.

My question is, is it hard on the transmission to do this ever so often. My fiancé hates it, says it scares her. Hehehe.

OK, check out the no lift shift thread. Hard shifting is OK once in a while , like at the track, not good everyday. But as you said "on occasion" you're probably going to be just fine, just don't miss a shift.
The no lift shift, or power shift are hard on the drive-line components, more so than what you are doing, but any type of hard, or forced, shift will take its toll on the car.
I am pretty good at the "NLS" and it is somewhat smooth as everything is done as in a normal shift, just higher rpm's and much quicker. Although the car will put you back in the seat...good fun, just don't over do it.
I would think that the "NLS" is not as hard on the drive components as the shift you are doing as the C7 has the "NLS" feature programmed into it. They knew that we wanted to race the car and designed a program that would hold the rpm's steady at the shift point.
Thus allowing a full power shift without hitting the rev limiter...but still tough on the car.
Be careful, the tranny and diff ain't cheap and the warranty most likely will not cover their replacement, the engine would probably survive though.
If the shift scares her imagine what the noise of a tranny going bye bye would do for her.
