Default Do you like your transparent roof?

I am thinking of buying a transparent roof. What do folks think of the transparent roof? Too hot in summer? Nice to have?

Anyone interested in selling one?

Due to constraints on painted roofs, my dealership decided on their own to order me the transparent roof . I did not sign off on that, so they ate that cost. If I had a choice? I'd never pick the transparent roof. That said, it does look good with the Velocity Yellow and tinted windows.
This is just my own experience.

Love my transparent roof. Doesn't get too hot and I live in San Antonio. Had a C6 with painted roof and found myself taking the top off a lot. Have only done it twice in the C7. Car is silver so the black look of the roof makes it pop.

I would like to have one as a secondary to run when I want to feel like I'm in my WS6 with the t-tops...Otherwise I'm perfectly happy with my solid roof.

I live in So Calif and LOVE my transparent top. In the hottest of weather I do have a Static Cling type panel that I got from a Corvette Store that has thousands of little holes in it that I put on the inside. Heat NOT an issue.

I prefer the 'closed-in' experience.
Heat not an issue as we do have the remote starter (for the a/c).
Personal preferences.
(I also would prefer a fixed roof like the ZR1)

I love my transparent roof. Why? I dislike the "closed-in" experience and seeing out the top gives me the top off feel when I don't feel like removing the top. It's the best of both worlds

The Transparent top is a must have for me.
It's a more open feel and brighter inside and especially nice when it's too cold to take the roof off.
It can get hot inside on hot sunny days if the windows are open, but if it's that hot out, the roof is off anyway.
If we plan to be on the highway a lot, the Transparent top stays on with windows up, A/C running and it stays cool inside.
I have both tops and like having both just in case.
But so far never used the solid top on my C6 and probably won't use it on the C7.
Just my personal preference

I don't like the way it looks from the inside, and i prefer my interior dark.

I would be happy to get rid of mine, but i need a non transparent roof. So something like a trade is what i have been looking for since i got my corvette.

This car is my first with a transparent roof, I do like it though I will probably buy a solid roof as well, just to give the car a different feeling.

We have the 2 roof option with painted and smoked panels. The transparent roof is good in the spring and fall. When traveling in the mountains the view with the clear roof is great. When we go south we use the painted roof to reduce cabin heat when parked since we travel with optic gear. In comparing both tops there doesn't seem to be an interior noise penalty for using the clear top.
I like the look of the painted top over the smoked look and have considered having the black top painted with body color like the exposed carbon top.
If I only had one roof I would go with the painted one.

I agree with both of the above posts...my Blade Silver looks great with the transparent roof, I like the open feel when not running it with the roof off...we'll see about heat...on the one day recently here in Savannah in the mid 80s my wife remarked about it...didn't bother me

Another vote against the transparent roof here. I have one on my C4 and find it too hot in the summer. I told the salesman I wouldn't buy another one. I waited for my painted roof. I didn't mind the extra light but I don't need it either. Just sayin'.
