I'm a car guy but not a wrench, just enjoy driving it.
Took my C7 in for oil change and mentioned to consultant that it idles a bit rough. He said that all GM motors idle a little rough. I have owned a lot of GM products and I don't find that to be true. If in fact he isn't BSing me would the slight roughness be a function of the direct injection?
My C7 has idled a little rough from day 1. I sent the following question to my service advisor at Stingray Chevrolet. They are a great outfit and I trust in what they say.
My Question: Very happy with the car so far. Only issue I have is it seems to idle a little rough. Not really bad but certainly noticeable. Happens all the time whether the car is warm or cold or in gear or in neutral (A8 transmission), and whether or not the A/C is on or off. Is that normal for these cars or should we check it out?
Answer: The Corvettes do have a rough idle. Most people have asked the same question, it is not misfiring. If there were to be any misfires, your check engine light would come on alerting us to it.

After about 9 months of owning my C7- the rough, lumpy idle is still strange to me- feels like there is an issue with the spark plugs or spark plug wires and that it will stall out....however, looks like everyone is reporting that on this forum
In comparison, the XLR's Northstar V8 was super smooth at idle
