When I reverse and then go forward my mirrors do not return to the set position, (only come back 1/2 way). I have been in settings and verified them, and reset the mirrors to no avail. HELP or do I just need a lobotomy.

My 2016 Z did the same thing, I ended up not liking it and shut that function off in the settings.

Mine started to do this the last few days (got it on 2/29/16) it seems to be hit and miss sometimes it only returns 1/2 way other times it goes back to the set position when it goes half way I can press and hold the memory preset and it does reset - I have only seen this with my passenger mirror not the driver mirror

I have mine set to go down when in reverse, and when backing into my garage they will go down, but then partway down the driveway(while still in reverse) they will go back up. No clue why, other than taking the foot off the gas, but as long as it's in reverse they should stay down. I drive a manual by the way. Anybody else have this issue?

Well, at least I know I'm not alone, and a lobotomy is not required. Thanks for the responses.

They only stay down for about 30 seconds, I think, then return to settings. That is why I disabled mine. I set mine down and adjusted and saved under #2 setting. That way when I need it, I press the #2 memory, and reset to #1 when I am through.

My Cadillac does the sane thing. Turned it off on both cars.

Your seat or steering wheel is at the limit. Move your seat and/or your steering wheel one click from that limit and save that in your seat memory.

Its weird, sounds unrelated, and maybe even a little retarded, but the mirror will not return to the stored position when your seat/steering wheel is at the limit switch.

Good luck!

I'll give that a shot, thanks a lot.

I don't have that problem. My settings are as T-Z06-J mentioned. But my wife has that problem in my new Regal GS that she drives...maybe it'll work on that also. Thanks for the reminder, T-Z06-J.

That happens to me about 40% of the time when I back into the garage.

Its aggravating when it does it, as I use drivers mirror to see where the back tire has to stop.

My 2015 Silverado LTZ does the same thing, but my 2014 vette mirrors stay down till I switch out of reverse. Go figure.

This is a great idea! How did I not think of this?

Mine had done the same, never seem to return to forward drive mode. So I also shut off the function.

Wow, my Z works perfect, after reading these post, not sure why. In my Z, when I back down my steep driveway, the mirrors continue to tilt down so the I have the same view. Like the function, wonder what I did right in the settings.

I have never had an issue with mine either, although, I have had times where hey time-out and return to the normal position before I am done using them to back up, if I am taking too long. But they never get stuck half-way.
