Just installed the leave-in Jacking Pucks and earlier had the factory splash guards installed front and back.
I just have to say, the these 2 items should 100% be standard on the car from the factory.
The splash guards to reduce paint chipping, which is always a huge complaint with Corvette people.
The jacking pucks to eliminate the constant risk of cracking the rocker panels.
Why wouldn't they include this stuff?
Because GM Parts can make money on the splash guards and they do. We're all buying them.
As for the pucks, 95% of the buyers will never jack up the car and the dealers have the ability to lift the car properly.
My BMW needs pucks too, and it didn't come with them, but they warn you in the manual not to jack the car up w/o them or you will damage the puck receptacles.
I completely disagree with your comments regarding the jacking pucks.
1st, there are always situations arising where the need to jack the car becomes reality.
2nd, I've had two different C6s, while at the dealer (2 different dealers in NJ), for simple maintenance oil changes, crack the rocker panels from lifting incorrectly.
Incompetent dealers are not everywhere, but seems you have really bad luck out there. Out here, I've never had a problem with my 4 Corvettes at 4 different dealerships and a paint detail shop, but I go in informed about their practices and have walked their shops.
Find better shops, even having pucks won't stop idiots from lifting your car in the wrong spot.
