Default First C7 Corvette Grand Sport Set for Barrett-Jackson Auction

If history is any indication of what’s in store, Rick Hendrick will likely ride away with the keys to the first Grand Sport after posting a sizeable bid for the car.

The heading may as well read:

"First C7 Corvette Grand Sport Set for Rick Hendrick's private collection"

Who bought it? I don't think it was Rick Hendrick or was it? Looked a bit like him but not sure.

Default C7 Grand Sport VIN #1 - Sells at Auction

So today in Florida the first ever Grand Sport C7 sold for $170,000.00 at the Barrett Jackson Auction in Florida. Check out the hand printing on the "SOLD" sign. To bad the color of the first ever C7 Grand Sport was Shark Gray. Don't get me wrong Shark Gray is a great color but look at the color of the GS Stripes. Somebody at Chevrolet is definitely color blind or color challe

nged.

The news is it's not Rick Hendrick who bought it. He's the VIN001 King

The 2017 Camero "Fifth" Anniversary, Vin#1 also sold, just $20K behind the GS. It sold for $150,000.

Is that the car they will get. If you read the sale description it says the winner will get the first retail production Grand Sport Vin #001.
I don't think this is that car.

I believe the colour designation is Watkins Glen Gray. To be honest, I'm not sure how it differs from the Shark Gray. In either case, I think the exterior looks brilliant minus the blue hashmarks.

Thought that car 'Grand Sport Collector’s Edition' vin #1, his choice coupe or convertible would have brought 3 times that in comparison to previous Vin #1's auctions.

Maybe it was because Rick Hendrick and John Staluppi weren't in the audience.

No it was not the first retail production Grand Sport Vin #001. GS Vin#1 will be produced on June 24th, same day production ends for the 2016. The winner bidder get to watch it being built and also be part of the end of the production first build ceremony and the winner bidder gets a museum delivery.
