I'm dropping my vette off at MacMulkin tomorrow, they said one to two days to replace the rear end. It took over a week to ship to dealer. Hopefully ill have it back this weekend and post a positive comment.

Okay, I know the warble is irritating to us Stingray A8 owners, but here's a question that comes to mind. Has this annoying sound ever actually resulted in mechanical breakdown?

As of this date, no one has had a mechanical breakdown. Not saying it hasn't but no one has come forth. I suspect it is a matter of time.

I had it and GM replaced the entire differential. The noise came in around 35 MPH and go away under acceleration. Good Luck! I have a 2017 Base Stingray Coupe. I put up with the noise for one year 3,000 miles.

The warble started in mine with less than 100 miles on the odo. With 12,500 on the odo now so far no other problem has reared it's ugly head..

Hopefully the service department will do the easy stuff first like checking the fluid level in the differential.
Also for the 2014 MY C7 the belt tensioner created the kind of noise you are describing and I believe there is a service bulletin for the tensioner.
Good luck with the repairs and please post results .....tks.
A followup of my earlier post. 2014 stingray, now at 29,500 with a warble or rattle noise at 1400-1500rpm. Finally was able to schedule a test drive with dealer mechanic. Mechanic noticed the noise was happening going from V4 to V8 all at 1400 rpm. Does not occur in manual, which is always V8. They recommended replacing the Delco drive belt with a Gates drive belt, per GM bulletin #5455. Cost will be $400-including $100 diagnostic+belt + labor, no warranty as its wear and tear issue. Awaiting a Gates belt as there are few available. Just searched again on this forum and found a thread titled rattle in V4. Post 1 has a pdf video and it the rattle is exactly what mine is doing. This fix was a new belt tensioner. I past this forum post on to dealer and they said could not find any problem with tensioner. In a few weeks, after new belt, I will post results on the Rattle in V4 thread. In summary, it looks like the 2014, A6 doesn't have the differential warble issue.

I picked up my vette today, my drive home from MacMulkin Chevrolet was an hour drive with no warble sound. They replaced the entire rear differential. I'll keep driving for the next few weeks and hopefully it doesn't come back. I'll keep you posted.

That's good news my friend. I hope you never hear that warble again.

2019 base A8 with the occasional warble sound. Occurs at 1500 rpm and ,occasionally, may not hear the warble for several days and then it returns. strange. One would think if it is rear end gears it would be continuous. Not certain I want the dealer to tear into the rear end or whatever since the car is flawless except for the warble. Transmission shifts very smoothly. It would be great if I could quote a TSB for my dealer.

I had a period of time when my warbled. I have 80K on the car now, but when it had about 37K it would warble for me at 1,400 pm when I let up on the gas once in a while. At about 41K it stopped doing it and never heard a peep again. Mine was unusual in that other reported ti when lightly throttling. Mine was upon deceleration. Go figure.

It's my understanding that the issue isn't with the gears but shims that are used in the diff. They won't go into the diff but will just replace the whole thing.

They replaced the shims in my car, no new diff. Warble is gone, I still hear what sounds like gear whine but it could be the tires. I'm done screwing around as I'll be selling the car in the spring.

They did mine very early on when, I believe, all the knew was that it was from the diff but did not know exactly what it was. I didn't know that they were just replacing the shims now. The whole thing has sure been a cluster.

Might be a good call - some things are just not worth the time and the hassle to get them right.

I agree. It is not that GM screwed up - we all do. But it is their lack of a clear and consistent response to this problem which shows their lack of commitment to getting it right. They talk about a TSB which somehow never happens and the dealers are not in the loop on what to do while customers are left hanging after spending a lot of money on a dream car.

Definitely a cluster IMO.

It is too bad too, because the C7 is a brilliant design let down by a big corporation which does not really seem to care about its customers.

I am new to the Forum and new to the Corvette world. I purchased a new 2017 Stingray spring 2018. I too have the warble noise...I brought to my local dealer and the lead Vette Tech road with me and heard the warble noise loud and clear. They kept the car, which after a week, they replaced the NPP exhaust telling me it was the valves within the exhaust (according to this thread, this seems to be the first thing that dealers focus on). Anyway, like the rest of you, I still have the warble noise coming from right behind the drivers side. I have read pretty much this entire thread and I find it hard to believe that the GM engineers cant find the problem with this noise. So I'll be taking my Stingray back to the dealer, with some of the highlights from this thread so that they know its a big problem within the C7's. Hopefully someones car will get fixed with a definite cause of the warble noise. I'll post any updates from my end. I sure hope GM finds the fix before the warranty runs out!!! Good Luck to everyone with this issue!

^^^ Geeze....... they are going backwards by 2 years.... the swapping out NPP exhaust was one of the first things they tried, which obviously didn't help.

Tell your dealer to call GM Tech Support and if that doesn't help or they look dumbfounded, tell them to call the Corvette brand Quality Mgr directly as he is VERY aware of the issue and fix. I've talked with him in person after GM Engineering bought my car back for this exact issue to use to get to the root cause. It's in the Differential. You can PM me if you want to. His name has been used in this thread several times in the last few months so I'm sure you can spot it.

I agree, that is exactly why I will wait until I have a definitive TSB that my dealer can read. He is small, not a Kerbeck, and who knows where he will start to solve the problem. Likely the exhaust valves.

My dealer is a small local dealer also, however they do have a very good Corvette tech. I've spoke with him quit a bit about this damnable warble, and he understands the entire situation as far as GM goes. We are on hold for a bit now, waiting on a TSB that may never come. If there's no indication of a TSB after the first of next year, we're going to go deeper into our conversation. I'm fairly sure he will do what I ask as far as replacing the shims on the diff. Then run it through on the warranty somehow. I will say that it's good to have someone that's actually on your side.

BTW, I don't have any exhaust valves to start with. I would hate to think what they would do first in that situation.
