I know for sure the 15,16 and 17. I don't believe the 14 have it and it maybe because it had the A6 tranny. Could be wrong but this is my not so humble opinion, LOL

This is interesting and if it is found that the A8 tranny is the issue I wonder what GM would do about it? Im not a tranny expert but I wonder what in a tranny would cause something like this?
Your's is the only Z51 that we've heard of. Did you happen to listen to the Warble YouTube video/audio clip that I posted to make sure that the sound you are hearing is the same harmonic resonance vibration noise? It's buried earlier in this thread several times, or you can google it.
Dead of Night....... one way to avoid it would be to not get an A8, but only 1 Z51 that any of us know of seems to have it, no GS's and no Z06's all with A8's have no issues with it.

I have and my car makes a noise similar to yours but to me it sounds more like a flutter coming from the back right side as far as I can tell. But under the same circumstances as your warble. Not sure if the audio makes it sound a little different. I had a 2015 Z51 A8 and never heard the noise but didnt know about this back then either so I never really listened for it and usually had music loud.
So now we have the loud engine sewing machine ticking and now this warble/flutter to listen to if radio is off.

It may not be a tranny issue. Could be the rear gear ration on the A8 (242) verses the M7 (342) ratio and the set points on when the tranny changes could be a factor. Z51 and GS A8 have the 273 rear end ratio. This is the big mystery, anxiously awaiting on the root cause. Bottom line we just don't know.
My fellow Warblers, GM has offered to buy back my stingray and I accepted the offer. I turn the car in Wednesday morning at the dealership and they cut me a check. The offer was very fair, got back what I paid for the car to include tax and tag fees. All it cost me was a mileage/use fee that was more than fair (333.00) to use the car for almost a yr. I am still very interested in seeing what the root cause and the FIX is and will be monitoring the post. I hate to see my car go because I loved everything about it except the Warble. Now the search for the next corvette, I am seriously looking to get into a new GS. Good luck to the rest of you guys with this problem. Happy Holidays

This gives hope to the other Warblers if they decide to pursue this approach. I wonder if the flood gates of buyback will continue. Anyone have a count on how many Warblers have made themselves known on this forum? I did not go back and read all the posts in this thread and try to get a count.

To be honest they didn't pursue this approach, if I hadn't went through the BBB they wouldn't have offered anything. I never bothered to read the warranty manual in my OM package before with any new vehicle I have ever owned but it states in black and white if they can't repair your vehicle after ample opportunities (3 or 4) they will buy back or replace the vehicle. I have learned a lot during this process. Most guys will not jump through the hoops necessary to get to the buy back, they just don't have the time or energy to put up with multiple trips to the dealership and pushing the envelope with GM and BBB folks. Remember what Church Hill said in his famous speech: Never, Never, Never give up and with that he sat down.
Again, Good Luck guys

Good for you Bruce. I'm happy to hear you were treated fairly.

Congratulations, Bruce !!!! I know you have to be relieved, as we were when our WARBLE story ended a month ago. I'm surprised that GM didn't offer a Buyback / trade as they did on ours...... that way, they are ASSURED you are getting another GM car. With your method, they run the risk that you could walk with your check... go figure.
For what ever it's worth.....we LOVE this GS..... Only thing we both really miss is our Laguna Blue color. Tis no more, as we all know. We're happy with the totally different look, White /Black and red interior. I've always been a huge fan of the wide body look, etc so this was an easy decision. With the eLSD we've fortunately not yet heard any WARBLE. Hopefully, never will.
I too am very interested in seeing how this WARBLE resolution turns out. I know my car has been back at Detroit for 3 weeks to be torn down. I had our new GS back at the dealer for the 500 mile required oil / filter change and asked the Service Mgr if he would call the Corvette Quality Brand Mgr in Detroit to see if they had any update on my old car...... hope he calls him.
Thank you Strake for all of your energy and time to do get GM to deal with this
I have a 2016 base, A8, with Performance Exhaust and have experienced the "warble" noise since I purchased it 1,300 miles ago.
It's a shame because I love the lines on this car, acceleration and exhaust note
I'm hoping that GM comes out with a recall fix
I intend to followup with my dealer when I bring it in for an oil change.
Depending on whether/how they (GM) resolve the issue will determine if I ever purchase another one of their vehicles.
To me it's a matter of trust and integrity.

It was really a group effort, specifically other key individuals, bjones7131 (Bruce), and Highplains (Pete) who helped get this to the proper attention at the very top of GM...... With the power of social media, such as this forum, we were able to get some idea that it wasn't just "me" with the issue, as well as to learn what other fellow Warblers were getting for dealership results on trying to figure this out. I was also able to convey to GM Mgmt that I was aware of several hundred of these Stingrays having the same issue.
I only wish I had done the YouTube video / audio clip earlier on, rather than waiting almost 6 month before making it. The clip I did make and that did get submitted to the CEO of GM and other Corvette Mgmt team members wasn't even a good example, it was the only attempt I made to get an audio clip of what we were hearing. It significantly helped take this from a subjective description, to something more definitive.
I dropped my car off this morning for service for the warble as well as the A8 issues that have been discussed at length in other topics. Just got a call that they will need to keep it over night because they are having trouble pinpointing the sound.....

It may be worthwhile to let them know of this topic in the forums because nothing is going to happen until Detroit finds the fix. They are working on it now. They have bought back one forum member's car for testing and diagnosis and will be wiring-up another soon for testing.
OK so ....update on mine . They drained the diff fluid and said it looked like "liquid metal" . Getting the differential replaced , part is on order and they said they will need the car until next week .

I really don't want to rain on your parade. You're diff may have had a problem other than the warble sound. Others have had the diff replaced in an effort to cure the warble. The best result I heard was one person who said the sound went away for about 200 miles and then came back. Detroit, despite a lot of research,
has yet to come up with a definite fix.

Yes it is. I've been on this thread since it started and I've only heard of one Z 51 with the warble and I strongly suspect that he had something else wrong.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
