Alon, no worries. This is a "feature" to reduce emissions ratings.
You can either shift at a higher rpm to avoid it, shift very slow and eventually it will take 2nd gear, or shift to 4th gear. OR buy the above cags eliminator and get rid of it.
You will do damage to the mechanism that makes the shifter go into 4th. You should not force it into 2nd. The way to avoid the 1to4 shift is to wind it up a little more in 1st. Conditions have to be perfect for the 1to4 to activate. You can bypass it with a shift eliminator.
I've had skip shifts in '07 Corvette, '09 SRT Challenger, '12 Corvette. This one is either the least obtrusive or I've just been trained by these cars to gun it so I don't run into it.
Just give it some gas. You'll never run into it again.
I went through a Youtube video where it shows exactly where to plug the skip shift eliminator but that plug is nowhere to be found in my tranny ? is it different from a z51 to a base ? mine is a base..

mine is base . i lift the car and i found it on the gear.
Well obviously not if mine is different, can't figure out why though
It's right on the side.. Maybe you are missing it because the wire on the C7 is covered with heat shield insulation that was not on the C5's.
Note, the skip shift solenoid is white, others are black.

i install the skip shift eliminator but still see the message.
it is ok?
Yes, normal. You did not eliminate the computer "thinking" you needed to shift and send a signal to the skip shift solenoid that mechcanically blocks the ability to shift to 2nd. With the CAGS eliminator you disconnected the wires going to the solenoid and replaced it with a resistor of a similar value to prevent tripping a code.
Please don't let the computer you fooled it!!
It will keep sending the message and you are doing no harm!
If you want to eliminate the message just shift out of 1st gear at 25 mph!
