Default What To Do?

My dilemma today:

Drive the Z06 in the rain this morning, as it will clear up by this afternoon, or get some work done from home...

Why does the Vette have windshield wipers?

J/K

I drive it rain or shine, as I do any other car.

My best friend, who had a '15 Z51 coupe, won't even back his car out of the garage if there is a remote chance of inclement weather.

Different strokes for different folks.

The one downside of driving it in the rain is cleaning it up afterwards.

Drive it! The C7 is not a collector car and is depreciating at an alarming rate, so why save it. If it is raining hard the car will not even get that dirty. If you want to collect art work purchase a painting.

Accident rates go up during inclement weather. I have a beater, why not use it when the weather is fowl.

You're going to lose money on the car whether you drive it in the rain or not... so why not enjoy it every day.

The depreciation between a garage queen with 10k miles and a daily driver with 50k miles over say 7 years is minuscule when you factor in that you actually got to ENJOY the car every day for 2500 days

I can relate and understand your need to keep your car looking like new. I too was reluctant to drive my car in bad weather. I discovered, to my dismay, as the years pass age will deteriorate components and the new car luster we cherish will fade (starts to show in about three years). It is impossible to keep any car blemish free. I have marked up my on car in the garage. To make matters worse, depreciation lowers the value, you are losing thousands annually. Your 2015, probably looks better than when delivered, is one model year old and probably depreciated about $15,000. I now drive my car (in rain) with the thought of replacing it every three years just as the newness begins to fade. Happy motoring!

Keeping my C7 in pristine condition is part of my enjoyment of the car. I use my DD subaru for inclement weather and for going places were parking is an issue.

Work from home, make extra bucks and then when your car turns to crap because you drove it in the rain you will have the money to replace it.
Mine is driven every day and get cleaned up every couple of week and it still looks damn good.
I'll keep it for 5 years and enjoy the heck out of it and then buy a new one, God willing.

I don't normally drive in the rain but when I picked up my car at the dealer (80 miles away) it rained the entire trip home. But I didn't care. Put it in Weather mode and enjoyed the trip. 😊

Is that really a downside

I will drive it in any weather if I had to, took it from the dealership in slush snow! I will not intentionally drive in bad weather, but I have a ride planed,I'm going rain or shine!

I drive mine everyday, and it poured all day yesterday. It was cleaner, upon return. The rain washed away all the accumulated mess from the weekend.

If others choose not to drive theirs, I get that, too!!!!

I drive when I want to. If it happens to rain when I'm out, so be it. If it's pouring rain before I go out, I drive something else. Pouring rain kind of ruins the raw pleasure of driving my car.

Works for me!
