Just pick up my corvette a week ago. Took it out for a ride. The transmission seems to be searching for the right gear. It has 5600 miles on it. The dealer says that 6 speed shifts different.? They said if it has a problem the engine light would come on. Well after sitting for about an hour we started if up and the engine light came on, after starting it for the fourth time it went out. I cant believe at this low if miles the transmission is going out. Anyone have any idea whats going on or is this normal
Did you scan the check engine light code to see if it was even related to the trans? It could coincidentally something else causing the CEL. I had an 09 Pontiac G8 GT with the 6 speed auto and it shifted great and didn't hunt for gears. Not saying that your trans is fine, but if it is acting weird, it could be something as simple as being low on fluid. Don't get bummed out just yet...
Take it to a different dealer. Sounds like it needs reprograming but in any event a diagnostic port reading should answer what's up. Not every dealer selling Corvettes really understand them or has a dedicated experienced technician that only works on them. Dealer closest to me sells plenty of Corvettes but hasn't a clue how to service them properly. Dealer 25 miles away has two mechanics who only work on Corvettes. Worth the drive if you find a dealer who provides the right support and service.
Might be the throtle position sensor is out of sink. In that that case, the computer should learn and adjust from just driving it. Don't know if you've driven it much. If not, you may just need to put some miles on it.

I picked up a 2014 w/ 17,800 miles on April 5th. Traded in my 2012 GS. Drove the 2014 170 miles home. I thought the A6 shifted much better than in the 12. I don't detect any hunting of the gears.
Remember a previously owned car is available for purchase because the previous owner didn't want it. As the new owner you have to get the unwanted reason solved. The transmission problem was probably why the car was disposed of. Have the dealer check on previous warranty issues on your car. 2014 Bumper to Bumper warranty period is soon coming to an end.

Good advice on the pending warranty expiration, but the powertrain components are covered for 5 years/100K miles. Still, I agree that it would be a good move to get it checked out by another dealer to see if they can help with the issue.
