Dash Trim Pad Removal
Thinking of replacing the dash trim pad and going to Kalahari from Black. I have a 2LT Kalahari interior and may add the Dash trim pad and Upper trim pad to break up the all black dash.
Forum member Theta had a great write up on the trip pad removal. However, it appears you need to remove the center console just to get to one screw. I am not too fond of prying plastic pieces apart. Has anyone found an easier way or does the center console trim plate have to come off? Thanks.

edited: if you just want to replace the "leather" part of the trim, doesn't that just pry off? I don't think the silver piece (that is held on by the screw) needs to be removed. Check into this further

Get a set of Bojo's before prying with anything sharp and/or metal.

you do NOT have to remove the bolt for the silver trim piece if all you are doing is removing the leather surround to the top of the dash. all you have to remove is the 2 screws by the "handle" portion of the surround. Watch from 25 seconds to 1 minute mark of this video.

I would like to do this, too. But, I want to also have the piece on the door panels match so it looks like it would flow in. Spoke to a leather place that can recover my pieces, but, apparently there isn't true Kalahari available yet. Don't want to go through all the trouble if it won't match perfectly.
