Default Another oil change question

I have a 2015 Z51 and had my oil changed at the recommended 500 mile mark. Now at 1500 miles the message center is telling me to change oil soon. Has anyone else got this message at 1500 miles or do you think the dealer forgot to reset. Thanks

May have been the dealer BUT since 500 miles was probably achieved soon after you got the car, what was the time from the 500 mile change to now?
If it was 1 year the OLM will say to change! Seeing you live in MI you may have had the vette stored for the winter so the OLM decreased every month!

Unlike my C6 (and other prior Vettes and many cars) which said in the Owner's Manual to change when the OLM said to or 1 year max that OLM did not measure time. The C7 measures time.

FWIW, I change the oil in my Prostreet Rod's 502 cid engine once a year and it mostly only goes to car shows!

If it was not a year from the 500 mile change but you only make very short trips that don't allow the oil to get to operating temp (especially with a dry sump that takes longer to heat the extra oil) it may tell you to change sooner!
The worse thing for an engine is to start and stop it! For example even in my Street Rod, if I have to pull it out of the garage to get assess to something I drive it ~25 miles to get the oil hot! When starting the clearances between piston and cylinder walls are large and combustion products (like water a major component) blow past the rings and get into the oil. That forms acid etc. Oil additives, which make today's oil better than the stuff years ago we had to change at 3000 miles, also deplete over time.
Just say'n.

Like JerryU posted. Did it sit over the winter? If so change it, if recently then as Glen e said, forgot to reset the monitor.

I've only had my 2016 about a month, however, I've gotten in the happen of stepping through the information menu when leaving the house. The % Oil life is one of the steps & I've watched it move down to 94% from the 100% when I picked it up from the dealer. This would let you know immediately if the dealer reset. Other posts discussing if it is over the winter are also valid. Not sure if the 12 month time feature is gradual or a step function that moves it from wherever it is to 0% when 1 year is elapsed. In any event, it's just another tool to keep track of information.

The annual part of the function is lineal. It does not step at the end of the one year period.
