I am planning on visiting the NCM and take the plant tour in late May. Does anyone have a recommendation for a motel in the area. I see there is a motel across the street from the museum, but don't know anything about.
Bowling Green is really small, so any hotel will be close (5-15 minutes) to the NCM. We stayed at the Hyatt Place, and there's a Hilton Garden Inn in town also. Those are the nicest places we found through Expedia.
If you're looking for cheap, Bowling Green has a lot of Super 8 type hotels also.
#2 rated of all the motels in Bowling Green is the La Quinta. New and nice and cheaper than motels that are rated lower on TripAdvisor.com
It's located at exit #22 where just about all the decent restaurants, shopping, etc are located. Other than the Hotel Sync(rated #1 in Bowling Green, but the La Quinta is cheaper and has a free breakfast that the Hotel Sync doesn't) the other motels near the museum are not that nice.
We always stay at the Super 8 on Willamette, centered between the museum and the assembly plant. It's not fancy but we like it. Rates are reasonable and the place is clean. It's only about 10 minutes from the main drag where there are many great restaurants to choose from.
Be sure to have a meal at Lil Piggy B B Q in Pig Kentucky. Just a 20 minute drive or so . Tell Calvin Hi from Glen Regional Corvette Club. Just don't spill your drink.

I'm from NC and LOVE chopped pork Barbecue, Eastern NC style. Seriously this place is in a town called Pig, KY? I'm going to check it out during the Bash. Thanks.

I always stay at the Holiday Inn University Plaza when in Bowling Green. Will be there next week for Cars & Cones. Pretty nice hotel and within walking distance to a number of decent restaurants. Will be the 4th stay at this hotel in the past few months...
If you are talking about the Country Hearth Inn right across the road from the Museum, I've stayed there. If all your doing is sleeping over, it's find... as long as you DON't get the side that faces the highway.
It's reasonably cheap and you can walk to everything.
They used to hold Z06 Fest out there but i heard its no longer Z06 Fest but something else... Either way, id like to drive my Z06 up there at some point.

I've stayed there also. Nice place & like you said lots of places to eat really close. There were at least a dozen Corvettes in the parking lot every night.

Yep, about 15 min from area. Very rural area, 4 corners is Pig, Ky. Very good. Great people. There is a Basset Hound that hangs around the front door waiting for a little left over.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express just 2 exits down from the plant/NCM.
Check out the Hotel Sync. It is across the street from the museum and very close to the Corvette Plant. Very nice place. Have stayed there several times.

Stayed at Super 8 right across from the museum -- $62. Very clean, comfortable, and quite. The Sync is next door but don't know anything about it. We did the factory tour and the museum on Monday
