I ordered the GS yesterday from Kerbeck in NJ. any suggestion best way to get it from NJ to jacksonville, Fl area. Do not wish to fly in and drive the 1000 miles. How does courtesy dealer shipping work and cost. I have seen it mentioned on the forum before. I have excellent relationship here with a very small dealership. He would help if I knew how and the cost
Talk to Kerbeck as they will tell you who they work with for courtesy deliveries in your area. Your GS will be built in Bowling Green & then shipped to your courtesy dealer. Typical cost is $300-$500. Congrats on your purchase.

none of the above. Get the museum delivery experience and have a ball driving home.
Many have done this and were very happy. Its the journey not the destination

THIS^^^ is the correct answer. Also order the build picture book from the NCM.

I was planning on doing this and then I started adding options like then red calipers and belts etc.
The only way I could stay out of Z06 price territory was to drop some non-essential items so the NCM delivery had to go
Now if museum delivery were no cost (or simply replaced the destination charge, as it should) I would definitely opt for it. The way it was explained to me is that everyone has to pay it because some freight charges are more than $995 and some are less and this helps even it out.

Ordered mine today and plan for the museum delivery. You do the same and maybe we can take delivery at the same time and caravan back to FL!

You have some good suggestions already. But Kerbeck would order the car and delivery from the factory would go to your local dealer. Call him and cut a deal for courtesy delivery. Usually $250-$500. Remember, included in the cost of your car is transportation. So, you will not be paying that a second time. Also, the PDI is paid to the dealer from GM. Hence the courtesy part of this. You could ask him not to do the PDI, some don't want the dealer to do anything. I think it's important to do the PDI.
Talk to that small dealership first. If they are amenable to doing a courtesy delivery for say $200. Kerbeck can have the car shipped directly to them if your vehicle order hasn't been accepted by GM yet. My son did this with a Vert he bought last year and it went flawlessly. The Courtesy Dealer also gets a fee from GM for prepping the car so its a win-win for all of you if the small dealer is OK with it.
Ask in the regional section of the forum if Kerbeck doesn't already have a relationship with a dealer. My courtesy delivery was horrible and I don't think my forum dealer felt like screwing with it and tossed it to the first clown that said yes.
Cost me $500 and my car was lightly damaged. I was more than willing to drive to San Antonio, Austin, or Dallas.

As already indicated, IMHO and based upon my own experience, ask the selling dealer (Kerbeck in this case) to make arrangements for a courtesy delivery to a dealer near you. If the selling dealer waffles on that or indicates they have "concerns" with doing that, consider cancelling the order and place it with another of the top Vette dealers in the country. While I won't make negative statements about specific dealers, I will tell you that last year at this time, I had contacted the top national dealers- I was interested in placing an order and having it courtesy delivered in CA. One large Vette dealer spent time trying to talk me out of courtesy delivery (even suggesting that I should have it delivered to them, then pay to have it shipped via third party carrier to CA at my expense). That route is not only more expensive, it is actually fraught with more risk of damage to the vehicle, not less. I then called another large dealer (one that claims they are #2 in the US for Vettes)-- they not only found a dealer they had confidenice in to do the courtesy delivery, they negotiated a reasonable cost for the delivery ($500), & most importantly, everything worked out perfectly. ...all (including the courtesy dealer) were very happy to participate in the process. Good luck!
Look into taking the Auto Train from the Virgina area to Orlando( I think is the florida destination)...this way you ride with your car and all you are doing is driving it to the Auto Train when you leave and driving it home in Florida when you get here.; I've heard they are very good and careful in loading up cars and that should not be an issue.
Good Luck
