Default Interior button

I've searched the 2014 z51 3lt owners manual to learn something about a button next to the trunk release but can find nothing.
When you push it an orange light comes on. Does anyone know what this button does?

I think it turns off the motion sensor for the alarm. Seemed to work after I set it off jacking my car up the first time.

Intrusion/Inclination sensor.

Basically when the car is locked, this arms and if anyone reaches in the open window, or breaks that same window, or jostles the car, the alarm will sound.

It is disabled with the top off/down.

Disables the Intrusion and Inclination security sensors. See page 2-18 of your Owners Manual.

There will also be a notice in the instrument panel if the screen is still on when activated.

Here's my problem. I've set the alarm off when the top is on and I reached thru the window for my coffee cup.
Here is my bitch....when the top is off I can reach in, make all kinds of movements and it does not go off and that is my biggest concern. Love having the top out but if the alarm does not function, it does nothing to scare away any bad asses who want to swipe my V1 or anything else available.
What the hell am I doing wrong?

It is disabled when the top is off. You could make a plug to fit in the hole that the top uses but it would have to be inserted each time you take the top off. Also a butterfly might deside to fly in and it will go off. Along with leaves, beer cans, or any other crap that gets thrown in your car.
