How fast have you driven your C7?
Just curious as to what everyone's top speed was.
No need to say where you did this or when. Let's assume we were all in Mexico or on a track to keep the "speed police" from telling everyone how dangerous speed is.
I'll start. I have reached 174 MPH How about you? Please vote.

Make sure your wife, girlfriend or other has your user name and password to the Corvette Forum so she/he can post your obituary to the site.
We want to make sure to send our condolences.
Hopefully, your 174 MPH run was not on a US road or highway.
Doing 174 MPH on a track environment I can fully understand, but not on any US road or highway.

This is turning into a prius forum

I have been to 92 mph

Not righteous at all, just realistic.

He never said he was on a US highway if you could read you would see ALL of these runs were clearly done in Mexico or on the track. People love to complain

Then there's the legal/law breaking aspect. Any idea how much just 30 mph over is going to cost in fines, legal fees and future insurance premiums? I'd much rather do my high performance driving on a track where there are no speeding tickets and relative safety.
Okay, so go ahead and call me a wus or prius driver. Won't hurt me bit.

Many years ago I hit 150 in my supercharged 95 Mustang convertible on a lonely country road. Then I got to thinking about the fact that all it would take is for a wood chuck to wander out on to the road and hitting it would be all over for both of us. I haven't gone that fast since. I would love to try my Z51 on a track somewhere where I could top it out at what they claim it will do - 187 mph. But I am NOT going to try it on a public road. It's just too dangerous.

His words were:
"Let's assume we were all in Mexico or on a track to keep the "speed police" from telling everyone how dangerous speed is."

To paraphrase a current John Deere (I think) mower commercial, "It's not how fast you go it's how fast you get going." Even that isn't often possible with the 10 under crowd around where I live, and I haven't been to Mexico or VIR yet!

I knew some self-righteous member would assume I was on a public road. I was NOT. There are 1/2 mile and mile events everywhere.
Don't make assumptions. I have never gotten a speeding ticket in 33 years of driving.
I should have known this would be a train wreck

Haven't had an opportunity to get it above the highway speed limit in The Great State of Texas. We'll see what next weekend brings in Ennis.
