I personally think, based on nothing but my gut, but what the hell do I know....we will see something of this next High HP car in January....at Detroit on the world stage.
I know for a fact, there are at least 8 test cars of said future pipe dream driving around NOW

Might be a 2017 or early mid year 2018 in spring of 2017. I'm thinking its dependent on the new plant expansion. Will be announced to the public at the 2016 LA auto show. A price of around $180K was also mentioned. Chevrolet has a habit of leaking information to create buzz on future products.

Your dealer, I don't care who or where, is full of it. Do you honestly believe that the owner or GM of any dealer would come back from an owners meeting and spill the beans to the public. Furthermore,if Chevy was really planning to announce this to the public 6 months from now, do you really think that they would inform dealers now? Furthermore, there is zero reason Chevy would introduce a $180K Vette during the C7 run. I was up in Monterey last weekend for the races, and all of the big wigs from Corvette and Corvette racing spoke. From what they had to say, a mid engine C7 will never happen.

I highly doubt it. No-one who actually had that knowledge would provide it. If indeed there were a mid-engine ZR1 coming out, all with real information would be subject to NDAs. This is someone at your dealer making a random guess... Sometimes random guesses are right, but still nothing more than a guess...
