Android auto problems
I have two problems with android auto.
First, it doesn't always connect with even a good cable.
Second, after using phone and music, I eventually lose all phone sound on my Samsung S4 both direct and Bluetooth.
I have to reboot phone to get it to work again.
Is it a Google problem, a corvette problem, or a Samsung problem.
I think the connection issue is a corvette problem since I think I saw others having that problem.
Is it worth a call to corvette tech on this?

I have AA and I use an S7. Often AA doesn't connect immediately but I can usually get it to connect. Haven't had sound issues except of an occasional high pitched popping sound.
What version of Android does your S4 have? I'm on Marshmellow so that may be the difference.
