Yes, just a couple days ago. Battery went completely dead overnight. Still haven't figured out why. Used the key to open the rear hatch and then pulled the cord to open the driver's door. Be advised that if your battery is completely dead, the windows will not index down when you pull the cord so the window will hit when it is opened and you CANNOT close the door so don't try to close it.

A metal key hidden (but accessible) on the chassis and it's FOB wrapped in tin foil in the trunk could be emergency insurance against a possible lost or dead primary FOB.
You have to put a lot of force on the key to pop the hatch. If it turns real easy - there is a cable connector that has been known to come loose.
Check that your key works as well as the inside door releases about once a year.
Good point about the amount of force needed. This thread prompted me to test that my key does indeed pop the hatch should the need ever arise. At first I thought that it wasn't working, but then I turned it just a little harder past the point of resistance and the hatch popped open.
