Someone brought up an interesting argument today. Is a C7 Z06 still technically a Stingray? Considering that GM markets the Z06 as "Corvette Z06" and the base as "Corvette Stingray," along with the Z06 having no Stingray badges or words anywhere... it makes me wonder. The same argument can be made with LSX motors. Some people argue that the L99 isn't an LS motor simply because it doesn't say LS nor is it marketed as LS anywhere, however it is an LS motor. I understand that "on paper" a Z06 is a Z06, but, is it also considered a Stingray?
The weekly "Model, Not a Model, Stingray, not a Stingray" dead-horse-beating discussion. Usually it's the Z51 pacakge/option/model/whatever, today it's the Z06. Tomorrow, someone will ask about the GS. Why do folks even care....
This horse is so beaten, you could use it for glue straight up.

I googled for about 20 minutes with no results which led me to post here.

We will all mark you down as neutral on this one...

LOL yes, I'm in the don't care camp on most fronts.
When I wanted a Z51, I was fine with it being an option package and not a model. Then someone said it was a model in the system, so I was like "sure, whatever you want it to be". I'm indifferent on this topic but I usually grab some popcorn and watch the fighting when someone raises a 'classification' issue.

I hear you there dude...
My stingray wants to be a Z51 because it couldn't afford to be a Z06.
