For the life of me, i can't find the removal instructions for the map lights, to swap them for led's. Can anyone help me out? I'm pretty sure i swapped them out for white led's, but now want to change them to red and i can't get them off!! Thanks guys
They already are LEDs and they aren't a standard bulb. Plus, it's a real pain in the ***. They take those tiny little bulbs, I can't even point you in the right direction to look for them.
You can pry the cover off, then the bulbs are in a fixture. To get it back on, you have to remove the cover in front of the rear view and push down on them from the top with your finger to snap the fixture back into place.
damn, that sucks!! i thought i changed them, but i guess i only changed the hatch bulbs...
ill check the manual, but do you know off hand if the map lights can be disabled when the doors open? I just put red led strips under the dash and ill change the hatch to red but would love to disable the map lights... thanks for the input.
i just took the cover off to see if i could use floss to pull the bulb out, but i couldn't even get the floss around the bulb. I am afraid of breaking the bulb in the fixture then having a major headache so i just gave up. Getting the cover back on was a pain like you said. I pulled from the bottom instead of pushing from the top like you suggested, it was a pain to say the least. Ill live with it white lol thank for the input pal!!

Buy red self adhesive film from amazon and tint them.
I don’t want to get into why I even took the plastic cover off in the first place but I’m a certified mechanic it’s my job it’s what I do everyday. And this dome light was the worst time I’ve ever had with an interior light so I wanted to share my trick for anyone trying to put that stupid plastic cover back on. What I recommend is taking the sun visor mount off it’s just one t15 screw then use a straight pick from the sun visor mount hole to apply pressure on top of the light housing, while you mangle the plastic cover for 30 minutes. I recommend clipping the side furthest away from the button first then you have to line it up perfectly and apply pressure on the pick forcing the house downwards simultaneously pressing the cover on. Good luck everyone that took off their cover trying change their bulbs!

remove both visors. 3 Torx each. unplug them store out off the way. from the door sill pop the sill off up to the a pillar. then twist the rear view mirror off and unplug it or leave it hang. pop the header off with the plastic piece attached and unplug as needed. now you have the entire piece off you can set on a bench or table and work the lights . ive done this twice and have a new in box alcantara header and plastic piece for sale if you break yours. the lights come out from the inside. I dont think the bulbs come out I think you swap the entire assembly if the bulb blows
