So I had this loud tapping/rattling nose coming from the rear passenger side of the cargo bay. During my oil change I told the service tech about it. After a 14 mile and 1/4 tank of fuel joy ride they remarked "customer claims there was loud tapping sound, unable to duplicate. Two air fresheners close to each other in cargo net separated by tech!" Ahhhhh no jackkass it wasn't the air fresheners, but thanks for the extra miles...
Anyway, after tearing apart the removable roof stowage racks, speaker covers and wheel hubs with no joy, I tried putting electrical tape around the top and bottom metal cargo net holders. While doing this I touched the passenger side upper cargo net cover for S&G and it tapped. Proceeded to remove said covers and voila`, no more tapping noise. Photos attached for reference.
Congrats!!!!!!! Maybe you should send the dealer a bill for your time at the normal tech rates.
Not a bad idea, or submit a memo to the service manager "mysterious tapping sound in new Z06 baffles service techs, problem solved by dumb cop (vehicle owner)!" Sad...
Thanks, as I have the same tapping noise and will give that I try as my girlfriend is tired of being a human pretzel and climbing over the seat to figure out where it has been coming from with no success.

You're welome, I'm glad I was able to assist someone. Although I was expecting you to chime in with "she was climbing over the seat like a twisted doughnut" or some other such archaic, cop baiting plattitude. Thanks for showing a little restraint.
Hmmm, I have the same noise. Now, I will look there. Also, I have been trying to fix my squeaking dash by stuffing foam in there. Better, however, still squeaks.
