Navigation problem in Nevada

I actually went this same route last July driving the Z06 home from Bowling Green. Denver to Salt Lake to Wendover to Susanville. It worked perfect the entire trip. Spent the night in Wendover, drove up and down the main street several times. It never went blank. Strange.

I'll say!!! I think the weirdest part is that both of us had navigation, a little car on a blank screen. The screen did show the sky and below but no roads at all! The voice commands were there and accurate also. Just no roads. Are these maps programmed in to the car? I did notice while in Elko that everytime I started the car I got a message that it was "loading the maps" but this message stayed on for a minute or two and never loaded the maps.
