It would probably be cheaper and less headache to trade in on a GS.

I was going to do the same on mine but gave it up when I checked on price of parts.

Then I ask a dealer about a GS then a z06. Well just keeping mine like I have it now and calling it a day. I have put a a-lot of really C.F. on the inside and the outside. Really not worth it in cost are to trade it in.. Robert

Not worth the time or money, unless you do what I did with my C6. A semi truck tore down the side of my C6 and then pushed me into a side rail, tearing up both sides of the car. It was all most new so insurance would not total it. I made them at least fix it my way, with a full wide body (Z06 panels, hood, wheels tires, everything. Here is the before fixed and after fixed pics, I sold it years ago, but it was pretty!

I was in the middle of a wide body conversion that included the aperture panels, rear quarters, and rear bumper cover until my total loss in the flood put an end to it all.

This looks good. I don't like the wide wheel well look of the C5racer.com parts. Looks incongruous

That's a subjective opinion. It depends on what any particular individual wants their car to look like and what they think that project is worth. Personally, I want the Z06 wide body look, but not the Z06 engine, and I like doing performance enhancing projects to my cars.

I have all parts necessary for a full conversion currently being shipped to my home, and plan on having a local paint shop do the painting, and handling the panel installation myself. I've previously had the entire front end off the car for projects in that area, and the entire rear off for other projects back there.

As for prices, if you search thoroughly on the internet its possible to find genuine GM parts suppliers who offer prices and shipping that make it worthwhile to go that route. Not easy, but certainly doable, and being retired I have both the time and inclination to do so. I've read quite a lot about the aperture panel and its removal issues, and I don't mind attacking that sub-project either.

I'll do a DIY post as I go.

Its is very different. The ACS version uses panels which attach over (on top of) the OEM panels, so its much easier to install, but a lot of people, including me, think it looks 'clunky'. The one in the picture (unpainted rear panels on a Yellow vette) was done using Z06 replacement parts and 'flows' much more smoothly.

Please provide picture updates as they become available. I'm very interested in this for my Z51. As much as I wanted the rear brake ducts, I ultimately decided against a GS, because I don't like the larger side vents, rear spoiler, and lack of All Season tires option. This might be my key to getting the best of both worlds.

PS. Let me know how the wheels will fit (I'm aiming for an OEM look, so completely flush would be ideal). I believe the GS/Z06 wider body is made to allow wider tires flush so I'm scared that doing this after market mod will result in a fender that flares out more than the tire. Take some close ups for me if you can
